Dancing with the Stars is set to kick off the new season next week, and as the stars and pros gear up for the new season, one pro has left us wondering if this may be his last season. Yep, Maksim Chmerkovskiy revealed that he is leaving the show!
Okay, we know that Maksim Chmerkovskiy has a hot head when it comes to Dancing With The Stars, but would that cause the Ukrainian hottie to walk away from the show altogether? Not necessarily for that reason, but Maks did Tweet recently about his departure from the show: “With nothing but love, gratitude and respect to all that played a part in that amazing aspect of my life,” and linked to an interview he did with the New York Post.
In the interview, Maks revealed that he would be leaving, and added: “What else do I have to do there after 15 seasons? It makes total sense. The audience can’t expect for me to want to stick around, and the producers can’t expect for me to want to stick around.” Maksim Chmerkovskiy also revealed that he has landed an acting gig in a major movie that will start filming in January 2013.
Despite all the controversy surrounding Maks and the judges in the past, Maks is leaving with no hard feelings. He reiterated to The New York Post: “I loved doing it. But to be honest with you, at 32, I am at what-about-me time. I am not thinking that with me leaving, the show will go off the air or anything. Like my dad said, ‘There are no irreplacable people.’ I wish them the next 50 years of success. But I have to do something else. I need to move on for me.”
Wow, what do you think of the shocking news that this will be Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s last season on Dancing With The Stars? Comment and share your thoughts with us!
