Former football player, “Basketball Wives” co-star and wife-beater Chad Johnson, aka, Ochocinco, will not serve a single day in jail, in all likelihood, TMZ reported. Chad allegedly head-butted his wife, Evelyn Lozada, as they were arguing about something last month. It was not the first time Chad had assaulted a woman he was in or had been in a relationship with.
Incidentally, Chad Johnson was cut by the Miami Dolphins very shortly after the alleged head-butting match that, by the way, Chad won, 1-0.
People who refused to give their names, but who said they were close to Chad Johnson, told TMZ, that the unemployed wide receiver agreed to be placed on probation and complete a lot of anger management counseling in exchange for either a guilty or no contest plea.
Chad also agreed to a “no-contact” prescription that would bar him from talking to Lozado, and also from hitting her face with his forehead.
On Wednesday, the day the divorce was finalized, her lawyer, Michael Gilden, told People magazine, “Evelyn and Mr. Johnson were divorced this morning in an uncontested final hearing,” adding this key nugget, “My client is a single woman, and looks forward to her future.”
And that future does not appear to include the ex-star of “Basketball Wives.”
Under the terms of the deal, Chad will not serve a day behind bars. He has been charged with misdemeanor battery in connection with the incident, according to TMZ.
A hearing has been scheduled for Friday, and a judge is expected to sign off on the deal, thereby making it official.
