Piers Morgan Bashes America’s Got Talent And Olate Dogs

September 23, 2012 01:10 PM by Stephanie Gustafson

A recent appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon reminded us just why we don’t really miss seeing Piers Morgan on America’s Got Talent. Despite season 7 having been by far the best in terms of talent, Piers seems to think that the show can only succeed when he’s a part of the judging panel.

Piers was part of America’s Got Talent for six seasons and he still keeps tabs on the show today. Well, sort of. He pays enough attention to know which act won the big prize, plus the fact that Howard Stern has taken over Piers’ role as the token egotistical judge.

Surprisingly, Piers is actually okay with seeing Howard on America’s Got Talent. He told Jimmy Fallon that he loves seeing the shock jock on the show, even though he seems to think it was more “successful” before Howard arrived. Really, Piers? The ratings suggest otherwise.

Piers was not as complimentary of this year’s winning act. “Now Howard said he was going to find world-class talent…Here they are: the winners of ‘America’s Got Talent,’ two stupid dogs. So Howard, if you’re watching, that ain’t world-class talent my friend.”

It’s pretty obvious that Piers wasn’t paying much attention, because there’s far more than just two ‘stupid’ dogs in the Olate act. And while we agree with the many critics pointing to Tom Cotter and William Close as more deserving of the championship, we still feel that the dogs (and their trainers) are unbelievably talented.

Do you agree with Piers? Should Tom Cotter, William Close or one of the other finalists have taken home the big prize? Or did Olate Dogs earn the million dollars fair and square? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!

I think Piers is just being his normal twatty self once again. Olate Dogs have a wonderful talent and I sure wish they could train Piers to SHUT his mouth as AMERICA VOTED!!!!! Two stupid DOGS he says. Is one of them Piers and the other his ability to HATE dog acts?

As there are no comments, guess this is moderated or no-one cares.

AGT’s latest season had next to no talent past auditions.
    Worst judging on plant.

Piers obviously doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Olate Dogs are amazing. America voted and America loves Olate Dogs. They deserved to win.

    hi all,

olate dogs are amazing act. but they dont deserve to win. please i beg you please read below.

in their audition – they did an act that amazed us. so they went through.

in quarter finals they did the same thing that they did in audition + 1 new act. this amazed us so they went through.

in semi finals they did the same thing as audition + seminals but they did 1 new act. so they went through.

i was shocked…beyond shocked…in finals…they did exactly the SAME TRICKS…THEY HAVE DONE IN AUDITION OR QUARTERS OR SEMI FINALS….NO NEW ACT WAS IN THE FINALS OTHER THAN 1 NEW DOG…this was not the big WOW i was expecting especially in finals….TOM COTTER DID SOMETHING NEW every round and wowed us in finals…..william close did somnething new every time and 1/2 wowed me in finals. olate dogs dont deserve to win though they are THE BEST DOG ACT EVER

Olate Dogs certainly deserved to win. They were consistently amazing in every performance.

I thought Tom Cotter should have won
AGT7 but Olate Dogs were very close. I think America tired of William Close even though it was the most original and novel act.

Can’t they please send Piers Morgan back to England? He obviously doesn’t like anything about the US. We must have people here who would be more interesting, profound, personable, watchable than Piers Morgan. I never watch the show any more since Larry King left. I hate this trend of having English MC’s on so many shows….like SYTYCD. what’s the point?

The dogs were wonderful but it really is an old act. This stuff was on Ed Sullivan. Tom Cotter was fresh. Every week new material. I hope he goes on to see great success.

Piers had it right. While Olate dogs did a great job, and deserved the win as much as anyone else, this years talent was pretty bland. There were no outstanding acts that electrified you. And, some of the acts claimed as original were variations of acts done in the past.

Most annoying were the kid acts. Could they please make a rule that nobody under the age of 18 competes?

Piers needs to just go back to England. He was such an irritant while he was on AGT I tried to watch the talk/interview show he’s on – but he’s more of an irritant on there. Liberal idiot needs to go.

Tom Cotter was the best new comedian I have seen in years. Every act was new and fresh. His material was fresh, relevant, and very, very funny. What is wrong with America? How many times would you pay to see the same dog acts? Cotter’s material was different and surprising every time! Tom Cotter was the winner by far, America was just not bright enough to realize it?
