A recent appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon reminded us just why we don’t really miss seeing Piers Morgan on America’s Got Talent. Despite season 7 having been by far the best in terms of talent, Piers seems to think that the show can only succeed when he’s a part of the judging panel.
Piers was part of America’s Got Talent for six seasons and he still keeps tabs on the show today. Well, sort of. He pays enough attention to know which act won the big prize, plus the fact that Howard Stern has taken over Piers’ role as the token egotistical judge.
Surprisingly, Piers is actually okay with seeing Howard on America’s Got Talent. He told Jimmy Fallon that he loves seeing the shock jock on the show, even though he seems to think it was more “successful” before Howard arrived. Really, Piers? The ratings suggest otherwise.
Piers was not as complimentary of this year’s winning act. “Now Howard said he was going to find world-class talent…Here they are: the winners of ‘America’s Got Talent,’ two stupid dogs. So Howard, if you’re watching, that ain’t world-class talent my friend.”
It’s pretty obvious that Piers wasn’t paying much attention, because there’s far more than just two ‘stupid’ dogs in the Olate act. And while we agree with the many critics pointing to Tom Cotter and William Close as more deserving of the championship, we still feel that the dogs (and their trainers) are unbelievably talented.
Do you agree with Piers? Should Tom Cotter, William Close or one of the other finalists have taken home the big prize? Or did Olate Dogs earn the million dollars fair and square? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!
