The teams are almost set, so the Blind Auditions are getting more cutthroat on The Voice, meaning more arguing between the coaches, and more disappointed artists getting sent home. Who actually made it through, against the odds? All the highlights after the jump.
Tonight on NBC, Sylvia Yacoub kicks the show off right with “Only Girl In The World,” getting Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green to push their buttons for her. Despite all the praise…and the effort Cee Lo puts forth just to tell her that he wants her on his team…Sylvia decides to join Team XTina.
The “cool confidence” in Smog Technician Charlie Rey‘s rendition of “Home” gets Blake and Adam Levine fighting for him to be on their teams. The one he chooses? Blake!
Twenty-seven year-old New Yorker, Amanda Brown has worked as a background singer for artists like Adele, but now, she’s hoping to make a name for herself (sound familiar?). She’s doing it with the name, “Valerie,” which gets her onto Team Cee Lo.
With the teams starting to fill up, the coaches are getting more selective about the artists, so not everyone makes it onto a team tonight; even those who probably should have, like Yolanda Barber. A powerhouse voice and over 40 years of experience doesn’t quite do the trick, but hopefully, SOMEONE out there heard Yolanda and is ready to help her achieve her dreams.
Cassadee Pope is trying to make it as a solo artist after leading her band; a band that used to tour with Fallout Boy. It seems that she’s going to do pretty well with that solo career, getting all four coaches to turn for her rendition of “Torn.”
It’s a hard decision (dare we say, it has her “torn”?), but Cassadee eventually decides to join Team Blake, upsetting Adam and Christina.
Do you think Cassadee made the right choice with Blake Shelton, or should she have gone to Adam or Christina? Which audition from tonight was your favorite? Sound off in the Comments section below. We want to hear from you!
