Dog The Bounty Hunter may have gotten canned from A&E recently, but that will not keep Dog and his family off of our television sets! That’s right, Duane “Dog” Chapman and his family are getting a new show that will be airing on CMT!
We learned back in May that Dog The Bounty Hunter was canned from A&E, following a lawsuit by another bondsman, Bobby Brown, who often appeared on the series. According to Brown, he created the show, and he said that he prepared the cases that Dog and Beth pursued. Despite the show’s cancellation, Duane and Beth Chapman were certain that they would remain on television, and it turns out – they were right!
According to CMT, the network has ordered ten, one-hour episodes for a spring/summer 2013 premiere.
The show will be called “Dog” and will show Dog the Bounty Hunter aka Duane Chapman and his wife Beth as they concentrate more on the bail industry as a whole, helping other mom and pop bail bond agencies that are facing extinction due to bad legislation, untrained or ineffective bounty hunters or just plain bad decisions.
An executive for CMT said: “This series is a game changer for CMT. We were aggressive in our pursuit of a show featuring Dog and Beth, one of the most bankable teams in television history. We couldn’t be happier to partner with Electus and Dog and Beth as they move forward on the next chapter.”
Would you follow the Chapman family to CMT? Are you upset by A&E’s decision to cancel the series? We want to hear from the fans! Comment and share your thoughts with us below!
