Dance Moms teacher and choreographer Abby Lee Miller has no problem with sharing her opinion on pretty much any topic. This time, the Dance Moms star wanted all interested parties to know that fellow reality personality Honey Boo Boo is woefully out of shape. If there ever was a case of the pot calling the kettle black, this is it.
Abby Lee Miller might not be happy with her extra weight, but that won’t prevent her from attacking someone else carrying a few extra pounds. Especially if that someone is pageant diva and recent reality sensation Honey Boo Boo.
During a recent interview with TMZ, Abby bemoaned the fact that she had bad hair and a double chin on the Dance Moms reunion episode. Shortly thereafter, the dance teacher was asked to share her thoughts on Honey Boo Boo. Abby’s response? “She needs to get in shape. She needs to be at a dance studio. She needs to be training. She needs to work on her turnout. The whole nine yards.”
Okay, so her comment isn’t completely about Honey Boo Boo’s weight. Alana probably could use a few dance lessons. As much as we loved her Elvis impersonation, a little time spent at the ballet barre probably wouldn’t hurt.
Dance skills aside, Abby does think there is some merit to the Honey Boo Boo phenomenon. And unlike some viewers, she doesn’t believe that Alana is being exploited. And that makes sense, since Abby also doesn’t think her own dancers are being exploited. She further defended the show by mentioning, “[Honey Boo Boo's] numbers were better than the Republican National Convention, so they’re doing something right.”
Does Abby Lee Miller have a point? Or do you think Honey Boo Boo’s appeal is the very fact that she’s not like all the other pageant girls? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!
