Miley Cyrus just can’t keep herself away from Twitter! Like many young celebs, she posts constant updates about everything from upcoming appearance to her love for Domino’s Pizza. It appears, however, that this devotion to social networking is behind the reportedly growing problems in the Punk’d star’s relationship with fiancé Liam Hemsworth. Who knew Twitter could cause so much trouble?
Today’s celebrities love their Twitter pages and find it nearly impossible to stay away. Miley Cyrus is the perfect example of this phenomenon. She attempted to quit Twitter (reportedly at the request of then on-and-off boyfriend Liam Hemsworth) back in 2009, going so far as posting a rap video explaining “Yeah, the rumors are true, I deleted my Twitter…I want my private life private, I’m living for me.”
Obviously, that didn’t last too long. Miley came back to Twitter and all was well until this September, when Miley disappeared from the site for (gasp) days at a time. After an entire five days with no Twitter, she returned to report a bit of absolutely essential news: “Sitting by the pool eating chicken noodle soup with chop sticks.”
One insider has told Star Magazine that Liam still wants Miley to get off Twitter, but that, unsurprisingly, she’s less enthusiastic about the idea. “[Liam] thinks [Miley's] acting like an immature schoolgirl, and he wants her to get off Twitter completely.”
We’re not sure if Miley’s actually on Twitter to get back at Liam over some petty argument (as Star’s insider has suggested) or if she just enjoys connecting with her fans. Either way, we find it interesting that her most recent Twitter activity involved a retweet of Mac Miller’s popular message: “Twitter followers, red carpets, awards, “success” none of that is real.”
