Amazing Race season premiere starts tonight, and the Emmy winning show has upped the ante to $2 million bucks for the winning team. What else can we expect in season 21? Well, Phil Keoghan says this is the most eclectic cast yet!
The Amazing Race will premiere its 21st season tonight, and the show’s host, Phil Keoghan recently dished on what we can expect to see this season. Among the changes, Phil says that this season will bring us the most eclectic cast yet.
“I think you’re gonna love the teams. The team that stood out from the beginning were the Sri Lankan twins. They talk incessantly. They have a wonderful, self-deprecating sense of humor. They constantly bicker at one another and then turn around and love each other dearly. The Beekman Boys – the funniest thing was that during the auditions [when] they were describing how they lost their jobs and they started this goat farm,” Keoghan recently told TV Guide.
Last season, one of the things that drew viewers in (while annoying other viewers) was the drama between Rachel & Brendon and Vanessa & Ralph. If you are tuning in for drama, you may be slightly disappointed as Phil added: “There’s definitely drama and some bickering, but nothing like last season. I think this cast has a better competitive attitude than last season’s. There’s healthier competition this season. I mean, some of that stuff with Rachel and Vanessa was getting really nasty last time.”
Meanwhile, we’ll see the show change things up this season, such as upping the prize to 2 million dollars and bringing back the Switchback. Phil Keoghan also assured us that we will definitely see the usual dumb moves and misread clues this season. And after snagging yet another Emmy win, Keoghan also revealed that season 22 is already in the works! Hooray!
