Say it ain’t so! According to the latest gossip, former Punk’d co-host Miley Cyrus will once again be trying her hand at acting. However, this time, it won’t be the standard chick flick fare. Instead, Miley Cyrus could be taking on the role of Bonnie Parker in an upcoming mini-series version of Bonnie and Clyde. How’d she land that gig?
Miley Cyrus recently showed us that she was capable of more than she’s shown in the past with a surprisingly impressive cover of the beloved song Lilac Wine. Now, the former Disney star is looking to revive her image in the movie industry. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miley is currently in talks to play Bonnie Parker in an upcoming History Channel mini-series.
She may have some hidden talent just waiting to burst out, but Miley Cyrus will still have huge shoes to fill if she takes on the role of Bonnie Parker. After all, the talented Faye Dunaway earned an Academy Award nomination for her performance in the 1967 version of Bonnie and Clyde. And whatever talent she may have, Miley Cyrus is no Faye Dunaway.
Nothing has been said yet of which young man could be selected to play Clyde Barrow in the mini-series, but we do know that Neil Maron and Craig Zadan are on board as executive producers. These two have seen a fair amount of success in the past few years, having worked together on the hit series Smash. Can they do it again with a recreation of Bonnie and Clyde?
What do you think of Miley Cyrus as the new Bonnie Parker? Can she pull it off? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
