Jef Holm’s Family Practices Polygamy

October 03, 2012 12:00 PM by Lisa Princ

The Bachelorette‘s Jef Holm and Emily Maynard may be busy planning their upcoming wedding, but what fun would that be without a little scandal? As it turns out, the latest one is that Jef’s family practices polygamy! Oh yeah, you’re going to love this one.

The Bachelorette‘s Emily Maynard and Jef Holm have been busy planning their wedding, and have finally put all the cheating rumors to rest, so what better than to start another scandal? That’s exactly what one site is doing, revealing way too much information about Jef Holm’s family. According to In Touch, Jef’s family still, and in the past, practices polygamy, and his own grandfather had 11 wives!

In fact, one of Jef’s relatives spoke to the gossip site, and told them that many of his relatives, including aunts and uncles, are still followers of the FLDS Church, a part of Mormonism that still practices polygamy. The relative went on to reveal that Jeff’s uncle, Rodney Holm was convicted of bigamy in 2003 and his grandfather Carl Holm had 11 wives, and helped establish the FLDS Church after the LDS suspended the practice of polygamy.

Meanwhile, Jef’s father happens to have 63 brothers and sisters. However, Jef’s father left polygamy, and unlike most, he still keeps in touch with his family, as the insider explained: “The Holm’s are the only ones that talk to other families after they leave the polygamy religion.” The good news? That while Jef and the rest of his immediate family are Mormons, they do not believe in polygamy. That’s a sigh of relief for Emily Maynard, huh?

I realized he came from this family when he won but didn’t feel necessity to blab about it.He is not a polygamist and that is all that matters.I’m sure he loves his family even if he doesn’t share their belief. The younger generation are leaving this cult and they need encouragement not putdowns.

63 what kind of sick inbreeds rubber stamp their DNA..as if the world is here for them? STERILIZE each and every one…of the 100 years ago.
ANIMALS are blamed for everything yet that type of example coming or permitted even know in the USA is mentally degenerate…
No wonder we have lost our place onPlanet Earth: we are destroyed every aspect of our blessings…while permitting such perversion.
    Homos to perverts…and all inbetween.
As for responsible human beings: we are diminishing so it will be worse than cannibalism.

“The Holm’s are the only ones that talk to other families after they leave the polygamy religion.” That shows how forgiving Jef is and to be honest I was rooting for him from the beginning because he came off so different than the rest. He’s not buff like Sean Lowe or as charismatic as Chris Bukowski. Obviously if Emily chose Jef over Sean she’s going for a man whose personality weighs in more than his looks. She’s like Barbie she’s had her fair share of kens and by having Jef would be something fresh, new and good. I’m surprised they haven’t put out tons of defensive articles defending all of those long story rumors in Us weekly & In touch. I didn’t buy any of those articles at the store because I just didn’t believe it. Cliche stories. Same script different cast. Right on Jef & Em!!I just hope they hire a new PR team to prove that their marriage is more real than a reality show and solid as a rock.

I hope these rumors are not true, for the sake of the child involved. If Em really loves her daughter I would not think she would put her through such as a break up after Rickie got so close to Jef

    A. I have no idea who this guy is, but his grandfather is disgusting 11 wives & 64 kids. Someone was busy, he had to plan tho’s pregnancies a woman is only fertile 5 days a month. Eww it’s like he’s trying to breed a cult. B. Polygamy is ok if it goes both ways.

Jeff can’t deny this because the majority of people who have been Mormons for generations have polygamy in their history.

For anyone that has a problem with polygamy, I MUST ask, who are YOU to tell people who they can and cannot make a lifetime commitment to?

How many monogamous marriages are doing great? What’s that divorce rate again??

If you don’t prefer polygamy, then don’t marry a polygamist! Simple as that! But our government has NEVER been able to stop people from marrying and living FOREVER with whoever they want to.
They didn’t stop blacks and whites when that was illegal.
They haven’t stopped gays and lesbians.
    And they’ve NEVER stopped polygamy.

Get over yourselves and if youre religious then you make sure you’re doing what YOU’RE supposed to do to “get to heaven” instead of worrying about what others are doing.
    IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

Haha! Jef Holm’s father joined the LDS Church at 17! He was the first in his family to do so as well!
