For those of you who were a little more politically minded and decided to watch the presidential debate, we’ve got you covered with “The X Factor” recap. L.A. Reid, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears and Simon Cowell are about to crush some dreams tonight in boot camp. Let’s see who stays and who gets sent packing.
“The X Factor” found 120 contestants from the auditions around the country and brought them to Miami for boot camp. Each act must sing a song in front of the other 120 acts. So there will be a lot of pressure, and a lot of judgement.
Simon Cowell says this will be the most intense week of their lives and that this is going to be a fight and the judges are looking for killers. By the end of the weekend, Simon Cowell says half of the singers on stage will be going home. He tells them that you either stand out or you go home.
Diamond White, 13, starts us things off by singing Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.” Demi Lovato says Diamond is amazing. White makes the other competitors nervous.
David Correy gives the judges a great rendition of “Mercy.” Next is 18-year-old Jennel Garcia and Demi Lovato says she has crazy sex appeal. Simon says she is very spicy. Then comes Jessica Espinoza Demi Lovato is not impressed and says she’s disappointed with her performance.
Jordyn Foley, Johnny Maxwell, Trevor Moran and Jake Garza give mediocre performances they could. Garza forgot his lyrics and wasn’t able to finish. Much crying ensued. Tara Simon made an impression in a leopard dress that’s a little to little, she winds up showing off more than she had hoped for when she drops onto her knees.
Paige Thomas and CeCe Frey both decide to sing Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” CeCe goes right after Paige so it’s easy to compare. Simon says one of them killed it, but which lady?
So a few of the performers come out of the singing round with mixed reviews, so who knows where they will land. Willie Jones impressed Simon Cowell but not Britney Spears was not a fan. Tara Simon’s didn’t really get much attention and Sophie Tweed Simmons, daughter of Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed wasn’t anything special.
So now the first group to finds out their fate. Thomas, White, Correy and Sophie all made it through to the next round. The third group that includes Frey, Maxwell, the guy who forgot his lyrics,Vino Alan and Freddie Combs also made it to the next phase. So both ladies that sang “I Will Always Love You” make it through. So it’s still a mystery as to which one killed it. Foley, Moran and Espinoza are going home.
Tune in next week to see who still gets to live the dream and whose dreams are shattered.
