Nick Cannon Speaks Out About Feud Between Mariah Carey And Nicki Minaj

October 04, 2012 01:00 PM by Lisa Princ

After the recent spat between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey during the American Idol auditions, Minaj made it perfectly clear that she was not going to stand for it. And while Ryan Seacrest and Keith Urban may be fans of the feuding, one person is not – Mariah’s husband, Nick Cannon.

Despite Nicki Minaj’s claims earlier that there may be a conspiracy against her on the American Idol set, Nick Cannon says that is simply not true. The host of America’s Got Talent recently spoke out about the spat, and of course, he defended his wife! “I think it’s unfortunate because I know that was one of Mariah’s concerns of actually doing the job… is that she didn’t want to make it about a reality show or a catfight,” Cannon told Hollywood Scoop.

Cannon went on to add that he is not a fan of the feud: “This is an amazing opportunity for two iconic brands to come together and actually take it even further. When smaller things get involved it kinda takes away from the bigger picture,” adding: “I pray and hope that this isn’t what the show becomes about.”

And while Cannon hopes and prays that the feud ends, there is one thing that he is not worried about – his wife! “I’m not concerned about my wife whatsoever because she’s the strongest woman I’ve ever met and I believe she handles herself with such class and grace,” he concluded.
