Bristol Palin is a loyal daughter through and through, which is why she won’t stand for any attacks on Mama Grizzly. According to the Dancing with the Stars contestant, there is simply no comparison between Sarah Palin and Julianne Moore, the actress who portrayed the former governor in Game Change.
Julianne Moore recently won a nice, shiny Emmy Award for her performance in Game Change. The hit drama covered the 2008 presidential election, starring Ed Harris as candidate John McCain. Julianne Moore, of course, played vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
Game Change may have earned widespread critical complain, but at least one critic is (predictably) not a huge fan: Bristol Palin. When asked about Julianne Moore’s portrayal of Sarah Palin, Bristol replied, “I don’t think she’s a good interpreter of my mom.”
Why? Was Julianne lacking in emotion? Or were the emotional scenes overacted? Neither of the above, according to Bristol. No, the problem is completely centered around Julianne’s appearance. “I think my mom is way hotter than that.”
Bristol also had a problem with the accent Julianne Moore took on for the film. “I think [Sarah Palin] doesn’t have that accent.” Really? While Julianne might have occasionally overdone the stereotypical Alaska accent, we think that, for the most part, the voice reflected that of the former governor. Maybe Sarah tones it down for family dinners, but on the road she definitely has an identifiable accent.
In the end, it doesn’t really matter who is portraying Bristol’s mom (or attacking her, for that matter). Just as Sarah Palin is dedicated to helping Bristol win that mirror ball trophy, Bristol always has her mom’s back. And she’s not afraid to let the world know it, which is why she told E! “It’s kind of silly, but my mom’s awesome.”
