Drew Lachey Feels His Elimination From Dancing With The Stars Was “Odd”

October 10, 2012 03:00 PM by Lisa Princ

Last night on Dancing with the Stars, fans were shocked when it was not Bristol Palin who was sent packing. Instead, we watched Drew Lachey and Helio Castroneves, both former champions, hit the road. After the show, Drew Lachey dished about being eliminated, and how he finds it “odd” that both he and Joey Fatone are gone.

Drew Lachey was definitely not the star that we would have thought would have been sent packing last night on Dancing With The Stars, but no one was more surprised than Drew himself. “I feel disappointed that it came to an end. There are fantastic dancers on the show. Everyone knows it and everyone sees it every week. But, do I think we’re going home too early? Absolutely. I don’t think there’s anybody in this ballroom who would disagree with that,” Lachey told People Magazine after the show last night.

Drew went on to add that being eliminated definitely “sucks,” and he is not taking it lightly, in what we can only assume is that he felt someone else should have been eliminated. “It’s kind of ironic that the two Broadway performers, me and Joey (Fatone), are gone already. It’s a little odd to me,” Lachey went on to add.

But while Drew may be pouting a little bit after his early dismissal, his brother, Nick Lachey, is proud of his brother. “This is something he’s incredible at, and the chance to do it again as part of an all-star season has been awesome for him. He’s my best friend and my brother, and no matter what it is, I’ll be there for him,” the new dad gushed about Drew Lachey.

What did you think of last night’s elimination? Were the right stars sent packing? Comment and share your thoughts with us below!

I think Bristol is still there, only because she got sympothy votes. I love Kirsty, but lets face it, she’s not as good as the rest of the other dancers either. Both of these two women should have gone home last night if they were truly being judged on their dancing performances. They ARE the two worse dancers on the show, right now.

The elimination of two of the best dancers on the
show sucks. They were never at the bottom and the
ones who were are still on the show. How does that happen? Something definately is not right.

I agree that someone else should have gone home. I don’t believe that it is the fault of the fans. I believe the judges scoring counts for way too much and I feel they control who wins. I really think it is fixed just to get us all talking about it. I know longer enjoy the show.

I can not believe Bristol Palin did not get the boot. She will probably hang in there all the way to the bitter end because of the TeaParty followers. If it so happens, that is it for me & Dancing With the Stars. I really do not know why she was even included with this group. Did the producers think this was cute?

They both had already been in the bottom 2. They just don’t have the FANS to support them this season. Helio, Joey, & Pam Anderson all had a positive attitude after the boot. Drew needs to GROW UP and stop whining. DWTS struggled with ratings last year so they invited Kirstie and Bristol back who both had huge numbers of fans voting for them when they danced their first season. DWTS are using them in hopes of getting their ratings up. Kirstie loves to dance and Bristol needs the income. It’s a win win for all but immature Drew.

I am beginning to believe that although it is supposed to be a dance contest it is turning into an all-out popularity contest. Unless you have an active fan base like Kirstie Alley or a Tea Pot Political Party backing you, the wrong people keep being eliminated. This is a pity because it destroys the true meaning behind the contest in the first place.

I believe that Nick Lacey and the other champion were robbed. There is no way Bristol Palin should be on Dancing with the Stars. The first time she was Dancing with the Stars and Brandy was eliminated really had me very upset. She should be off the show immediately with her non dancing ass.

The reason Drew was sent packing was not because the judges did not do their job correctly, but because he simply did not have a large FAN base. It was a lack of those fans and those possible votes that did him in the same with Joey F.. Kirsty has a huge fan base. Personally I thought that Bristol was done for, but I guess she has a fan base?

First of all, I don’t understand why they would even ask Bristol back. She has no talent or personality. They should have put her mother up there for a real joke. The show, I feel, lost ratings because these were all previous winners or runner ups that had some talent, she had none. Let’s get real and not ever invite her back again.

I don’t disagree that Bristol and Kristie are not the dancers that the others are, but if the judges (like Carrie Ann would not so blantly show favoritism than the TV voting group would not feel that that had to save the underdog. Example Carrie Ann made a in your face comment to Bristol and Mark 2 weeks ago about breaking hold, but this week praised Shawana and Dereck and they also broke hold during the dance, if Len had not brought it up Carrie Ann would have given them a 10.
    Any comments from anyone?

BP is still on this show because a moronic website called “vote for the worst” is promoting her, not because she’s good but because she is the worst. They do this to all the reality shows, not just DWTS. They did it when Sanjaya was on AI. They have ruined DWTS for me but I mostly blame ABC for putting her on the show in the first place!!!

it isnt a real dance competition if america is allowed to vote…maybe they need to not let america vote in it and just let the professional judges do all the eliminating…that way the bristol palins of the dance world will go when they should…i am a huge fan of maks but i thought they should have gone along with bristol and mark they should have brought back the champs from every season to try for the ultimate dancing with the stars dancer…america has gotten alot wrong with alot of things in the world even me we all learn from mistakes but some just keep making the same mistake,,,,bristol….

This is it for me, can not believe that Bristol did not go. This show is definatly not right, it is certainly not judged on the dancing skills, just a popularity and Bristal has the tea party, not right not right at all. I will just be tuning in to a differant show from now on. A real good show gone Wrong!

What has happened to this show?! The fact that Bristol Palin will continue to non-dance next week is appalling and an insult to those who have genuine talent and a real desire to be the best this season. I do think that Drew Lachey should grow up and move on but he and Elio both performed extremely well while Palin stood there as her partner danced around her. Sadly, DWTS is no longer the show it once was and it should dance off into the sunset.

Bristol has her mother’s fan base….anyone could guess that. I would imagine everyone who is in support of Sarah Palin would vote for her daughter. It’s all about fans anyway. The judges
comments and votes don’t mean a thing to me, so why would it to a lot of other people. Bristol is terrible. Stiff and unfeeling. Very wooden Indian. I feel sorry for Mark Ballis….I would want to go home, too, if I were him.

Firstly, why was Bristol Palin, even on Dancing With The Stars to begin with. She was never a star, she was the daughter of a politician. Okay, that was the first mistake. But come on DWTS/All Stars, come on ABC, I have watched from the very beginning and you really can’t tell who will emerge as a “DANCER”, but when it was a fair and square show, the non dancers were quickly eliminated. We have watched this non talented young lady hang around, cry for sympathy (Mark) is a great young man, who has had good and bad dancers and made them look good). Please
ABC, do not do this again or the fans of the show who appreciate DANCING, and judge based on ability, will no longer support the show. I bet there are not that many Tea Partiers.

  17. Dale Says:

They really want to have more women on longer as the word is that “too many men” are winning in recent years. So what happens? they eliminate men instead of weaker performers.

  18. Cristy Sommers Says:

I cannot believe that Bristol Palin is considered an Allstar!!! She could not dance the first time that she was on the show, and she still cannot dance. Is DWTS that hard up for ratings? True fans would have continued to watch the show to see the true dancers – the dancers that deserve to go farther. She is only getting votes because of her mother. She is not a “Star”. She is the worst dancer ever and does not deserve to be on the show.
