Drew Lachey Bummed About Dancing With The Stars Elimination

October 11, 2012 09:29 AM by Stephanie Gustafson

It’s never fun to be booted from a reality competition, but it would be even worse if you were under the impression that things were going well…right before you go the ax. Welcome to the life of Drew Lachey. The most recent celeb booted from Dancing with the Stars was initially expecting to stick around a whole lot longer. How did he respond to the double elimination?

Aww, poor Drew Lachey. While we weren’t all that surprised that the singer was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars (he doesn’t have the fan base of, say, Shawn Johnson or Bristol Palin), we understand how shocking the elimination must have been for him. In a backstage interview following Tuesday’s double elimination, Drew was quick to share his surprise: “When we first got our scores, we were like, yes, 24 — that’s great! Then we saw the scores keep getting higher and higher and higher, and we were like, really? We’re second to the bottom.”

We suspect that Drew wouldn’t have been as shocked about being second to the bottom if there had been a bigger gap between his score and that of fellow contestant Bristol Palin. After all, his dance was more challenging and better executed. But Drew and Bristol’s leader board positions were separated by less than two points.

Drew’s elimination certainly wasn’t the only surprise of the night. Helio Castroneves also had to go home, and, with a score of 25.5, we didn’t think he deserved to leave so early on in the competition. Drew agreed, stating, “I think Helio’s going home too early as well.”

Do you think Drew and Anna were robbed? How about Helio and Chelsie? Feel free to share your reaction in the comments section below!

I love the show and watch every week but the show is only a popularity contest. Bristol and Kristie
should have went home based on dance alone. They were ok but not as good as the rest.

i dont want to watch this show anymore, it sucks that drew and hullio were eliminated . bristal and chritie are dominating this competition and thats not right, they should have never been brought back, its not fair to the rest of the dancers.

I wasn’t surprised that he didn’t last because he was partnered with Anna. She doesn’t make her partner look good. She makes herself look good. Drew’s lines weren’t sharp and he seemed to be relying more on his athleticism than on his actual dance ability. That said, he shouldn’t have gone home before Bristol. She’s a train wreck.

Bristol Palin is not a star. She certainly isn’t a good roll model. Why would they bring her back to the all-stars?

Simply unbelievable! Bristol is a nice person but not a dancer …..Kirstie has a great sense of humor but should of gone home last week instead of Helio or Drew ….. both men are good dancer with great personalities…… I do understand it’s a popularity thing …….
