Miley Cyrus, the Punk’d sweetheart, was the victim of an intruder last month. The incident took place on Sept. 8, when a gentleman by the name of Jason Luis Rivera hopped the fence to Miley Cyrus’s home, and wandered around the property wielding a pair of scissors. When police questioned him, Rivera at first claimed to be a friend, and then said he was Miley’s husband. In the video of the arrest, from TMZ, you can hear Ruiz saying, “I am a friend of Miley Cyrus. I am. She’s my wife. Me and Miley have been friends for five years.” Yes, your heard that right. This deranged man claimed to be her husband! What did the authorities say about him? Keep reading to find out!
In response to the break-in, Lt. Brian Wendling says “He thinks they were married,” he went on to state, “And I would say delusional is a good characterization of him.” We completely agree! He obviously needs some mental help. He also happened to have a Colorado and Texas I.D. on him, and then states that he’s in the process of getting a California I.D. I wonder if he has a past he’s running from? Ruiz was also reportedly sitting in her garden lighting candles when the cops spotted him. How charming! Thank goodness Miley wasn’t home.
Ruiz was originally held in jail on charges of trespassing and attempted burglary. His bail was set at $100,000. Thank heavens nobody bailed this crazy-bird out. He pleaded not guilty in September, and he’s been in jail since. He was convicted yesterday of both misdemeanor trespassing and resisting arrest, and could face up to 18 months in jail. A restraining order has already been issued to keep Ruiz 500 yards away from her and her home at all times. Thank goodness! It seems that in the past few years more of these stalkers have come out of the woodwork. Something is in the water down in L.A! We’re glad you’re safe, Miley!
Could you imagine someone doing that to you? What do you think his sentence should be? Tell us in the comments!
