Hulk Hogan Files Two Lawsuits In Excess of $100 Million Over Sex Tape

October 16, 2012 06:14 AM by Donna W. Martin

Hulk Hogan wasn’t playing around when he said he would exhaust all sources necessary to track down and bring to justice all parties responsible for making and leaking a sex tape of him and Heather Clem. According to E!, the Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling star filed two lawsuits in Tampa, Florida under his real name, Terry Bollea on Monday.

Who is Hogan going after? One of the lawsuits was filed in the Florida State Court against Heather Clem and backstabbing best friend, Todd Alan Clem, better known as Bubba the Love Sponge.

According to TMZ, Hogan claims he was secretly videotaped and “he had a reasonable expectation of privacy in his consensual, intimate activities in a private bedroom and reasonably believed that his privacy was safe and protected.” And therefore he’s suing for “invasion of privacy, public disclosure of private facts, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress” and violation of the Florida statute that prohibits a person from taping another person without their knowledge and consent.

The second lawsuit was filed in the US District Court for the Middle District Florida against Gawker Media. They are responsible for posting short excerpts of the sex tape on their website. The lawsuit alleges Gawker Media posted the video on their website “for the purpose of gaining financial profit at the expense of Hogan and in violation of his privacy.”

Both Hogan and his attorney, David Houston demanded that the footage be removed from their site repeatedly but they refused. Houston also sent Gawker a cease and desist demand but that request was also refused.

Although it isn’t clear what Hogan is seeking in damages from Bubba and Heather, he’s going after more than $100 million in the lawsuit against Gawker Media. Now that’s a chunk of change!

Plus the two lawsuits “seek an order transferring all rights to that video to Hogan and compelling all copies, all excerpts, all content to be delivered to Hogan’s legal counsel so it can be destroyed.”

What do you think of the Hogan sex tape scandal? Do you think Hogan is justified? Or should he have kept his pants up and went home to then wife, Linda? Tell us what you think by posting a comment in the section below.
