The Voice Recap: The Battle Rounds Continue

October 16, 2012 06:09 AM by Donna W. Martin

Bring it on! Its night 3 of the Battle Rounds on NBC’s, The Voice and the competition is fierce. Who will advance to the knock out rounds? Who will the judges save? And who will be sent home? Find out how it all went down after the jump!

The first battle of the night was between Julio Cesar Castillo and Terisa Griffin from Team Blake. The two singers rocked out to Gloria Estefan’s “Conga.” Julio won the battle bringing him one-step closer to his dream of being able to support his family. And Cee Lo used his second steal to add Terisa to his team.

Next up, Team Christina paired Dez Duron and Paulina to sing “Just the Way You Are.” Dez won the battle. None of the other judges stepped up to steal Paulina, which eliminates her from the competition.

Then Adam paired Benji with Sam James on a Bon Jovi classic, “Shot Through the Heart.” Although Adam loved Benji’s scream saying “You scream like a bat flying straight out of h*ll,” he chose to go with Sam. Again, no steal was used and Benji is out of the competition.

Team Cee Lo was up next pairing Nicholas David with Todd Kessler. They belted out “She’s Gone” by Hall and Oats. Cee Lo said, “You both moved me in different ways” and decided to advance Nicolas David to the next round. No one used a steal to save Todd but in a parting embrace, Cee Lo said, “Call me and we’ll talk.” So maybe there’s hope for him yet, just not on The Voice.

The fifth battle came from Team Blake. He paired Lelia Broussard and Suzanna Choffel on Florence and the Machine’s “Dog Days are Over.” When it came time to pick a winner, Blake said, “I don’t want to see anyone go” but ended up choosing Suzanna and sent Lelia home.

The final battle of the night went to Team Christina. She paired Joselyn Rivera and Sylvia Yacoub to sing Beyonce’s “The Best Thing I Never Had.” Christina had a hard time choosing a winner. She said, “This is killing me. I’m so torn.” But she ended up going with Sylvia saying, “I believe in your passion and connect with the fire in you.”

Adam and Blake came in for a steal, both hoping to add Joselyn to their team. Joselyn chose to go with Adam and said, “It feels so great. I’ve been with Christina and now Adam; it’s the best of both worlds.”

Tell us what you think of night 3 of the Battle Rounds. Do you agree with the judge’s decisions or would you have gone another way? Are you as shocked as I am that no one saved Benji? Leave a comment below and let us know where you stand.
