Britney Spears has made a triumphant comeback, hasn’t she? The X Factor judge has gone from the head-shaving, umbrella wielding days of old to a classier, in-control starlet, with the help of her parents. Lynne Spears came out with a book back in 2008 entitled “Through The Storm”, in which she called Sam Lutfi a “Svengali”-which, by current definitions means someone who controls others through deceitful means. Unfortunately, it can be argued that this word has a very anti-Semitic connotations through history. She’s petitioned a judge to keep Lutfi from calling any witnesses in regard to the word “Svengali”.
In Lynne’s book, “Through the Storm,” Lynne Spear sportrays herself as a loving, selfless parent who slowly lost control of her daughter. Britney Spears’ debut smash, ” … Baby One More Time,” left the family feeling lost and out of control.
Lynne Spears recalls feeling “shock and dismay” after witnessing her daughter shave her head, have multiple failed marriages, along with bitter custody battles. She also recalls feeling she had been “punched in the stomach” when she learned that the other Spears daughter, Jamie Lynn Spears, was pregnant at age 16.
The bottom came when her then-manager Sam Lutfi told her he was grinding pills and putting them in Britney’s food, hoping to induce a coma that would enable doctors to cure her of all addictions. At that pointy, they had to take control.
Sam Lutfi has filed a defamation lawsuit naming Lynne as the defendant. Lynne feared that Sam Lufti would run with the word and derail the trial by calling witnesses to discuss the meaning and use of the word, so she petitioned a judge to prohibit Lutfi from calling any witnesses in regards to the word “Svengali”. A judge signed the order, so Sam won’t be able to use that word as a basis for his case. The case is currently in jury selection. Way to go, Lynne!
Do you think this lawsuit is a waste of time? Do you think that Sam is just after money? Tell us in the comments!
