You may love her, and you may hate her, but Emily Maynard is one hot topic! Rumors are flying left and right about The Bachelorette vet. After two failed stints on the dating reality show, a recent “Hollywood Life” report is suggesting that Emily take a break from the spotlight and focus on her daughter, Ricki.
Emily has endured a grueling schedule of interviews and publicity events since finishing The Bachelorette with a humongo rock on her finger. She’s had a tumultuous relationship with her now ex-fiance Jef Holm, which has included a texting scandal and blackmail. Sources are saying that after the texting incident that Jef demanded half the payout she received from filming for his silence. Emily Maynard fans are saying Jef used her to gain publicity for his company, People Water. Either way, something’s fishy!
The report, which came out Oct. 18th, admonishes Emily, saying, “After two reality dating stints, and two short-term fiances, you need to put Ricki’s needs first — not your spotlight cravings.” The report goes on to detail that Emily is “Trying to get things back to normal.”
“Emily Maynard, now that your romance with Jef Holm has crashed and burned, you need to protect your little daughter, Ricki,7, from the public eye from now on. It’s hard enough on children to watch their single parents date. It’s scary and confusing to have new people come into their lives, competing for their parents’ affections. But in Ricki’s case, she has only known one parent her whole life because her father died before she was born.” Ouch! Talk about a low blow!
Whether you agree or not, there’s no denying the fact that having parents in the spotlight can have a detrimental effect on kids. Let’s hope that Emily and Ricki are spending some much needed quality time together, and that as they return to their routines, that a new, healthy normal will prevail.
What do you think about Emily’s parenting? Do you think she should keep out of the spotlight, or do you think it won’t really have an effect on Ricki?
