Twilight star and Punk’d guest host, Kellan Lutz loves being an actor and says he wants to act for the rest of his life. But if for some reason his acting career goes south, he’s got a plan B to fall back on, chemical engineering. That’s right, hunky Lutz is a science geek.
According to US Weekly, Lutz refers to chemistry as his “biggest passion in life,” and admits he is currently working with a scientist in Arizona to perfect two secret inventions. Maybe we’ll find out what they are once his patents are approved.
Lutz’s other passion is acting. He told DuJour magazine, “I want to act for the rest of my life. I’ll win an Oscar one day, but I’m in no rush to get there.” He added, “I don’t care if that takes me 50 years, and I’m old. I just love what I do.”
Oscar aside, there’s another perk to being an actor. The money Lutz makes as an actor is helping fund his inventions. He explains, “It’s great because acting has given me the resources and platform to help charities but also the money to create my inventions and pay for the patent process. Attorneys aren’t cheap!”
Good for him, he has several projects underway to keep the cash rolling in. Lutz will appear in the final installment of the Twilight Series, Breaking Dawn – Part 2, which is set to hit theaters next month and has several movies slated for next year including a remake of Tarzan.
Did you peg Lutz for a science geek? Are you looking forward to seeing him in Breaking Dawn – Part 2? Post a comment and let us know.
