On Wednesday, FOX experienced programming difficulties caused by baseball rain delays causing The X Factor to get a late start and then cut short so another program could start on time. X Factor judge, Simon Cowell was noticeably agitated and fans were left to wonder if their favorite singer made the cut.
According to OMG, Simon spoke out amid the confusion about the network’s flub, “Have no idea what is happening to the schedule tonight,” he Tweeted. “Have heard the whole episode will be shown next Tuesday. Sorry.” Then added, “It what’s known as a total f up.”
The network issued a statement saying, “Due to tonight’s rain delay of Game #3 of the National League Championship Series, the highly anticipated conclusion of the Judges’ Homes round of The X Factor will air in its entirety on Tuesday, Oct. 23 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The competition kicks into high gear on Tuesday, when the judges reveal which four acts in each of the four categories – Teens, Young Adults, Groups and Over 25s – continue and which two acts are eliminated.”
Wednesday’s show was suppose to reveal the top four contestants moving on to live shows from each of the four categories, but only 10 out of the final 16 were revealed before the show was cut short.
So far, we know Brittany Spears chose Diamond White, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Arin Ray, and Beatrice Miller as her final four. L.A. Reid chose David Correy, Jason Brock, Tate Stevens, and Vino Alan to represent him in the live shows. And Demi Lovoto chose Jennel Garcia and Willie Jones. That leaves two more spots open on Demi Lovato’s team and four on Simon Cowell’s team.
What do you think of the network’s screw up? Did your favorite make the cut? Or are you still waiting to find out? Post a comment and let us know.
