Listen up all you Stephen King fans! We haven’t heard much about “Carrie” since 1976 when Sissy Spacek took on the part of the troubled teen. But now, Punk’d star, Chloe Moretz is set to play Carrie in the upcoming bloody remake scheduled to hit theaters March 15, 2013.
The movie “Carrie” is a classic horror film based on a Stephen King novel of the same name. The story is about a high school girl who is an outcast among her peers and gets bullied a lot. She lives with her mother, Margaret who is a disturbed religious fanatic and who shelters Carrie to a point beyond ridiculous.
Over time, Carrie develops telekinetic powers that she then uses against those who tease and torment her. It’s bloody revenge at its finest! By this point, Carrie’s mother has gone from disturbed to stark raving mad, she believes Carrie has been possessed by the devil, and tries to kill her by stabbing her in the back. So then Carrie turns her powers on her mother and out of guilt and grief, on herself.
According to Yahoo, Moretz spoke with fans at the New York Comic-Con about her upcoming roll saying there was lots of blood. “We had the wet blood, and the fire blood, and the dry blood, and all the different types of blood.”
It will be interesting to see the changes between the original and the remake. Check out the teaser trailer and let us know what you think.
Do you think Moretz will play the part as good as Spacek did? Do you plan to go see the movie? We’d love to know your thoughts, so be sure to post a comment below.
