Tonight on NBC, after what seems like MONTHS, the Battle Rounds are finally coming to an end, with only two nights left for the coaches to whittle down their teams.
Up first, Team Cee Lo’s Daniel Rosa is up against New Orleans native Alexis Marceaux, singing Adam Lambert’s “Whataya Want From Me?”
Alexis is concerned that Daniel may have the upper hand having been on the show before. Will Cee Lo pick him just to give him a second chance? Or will it be Alexis’ classical training that’ll be her downfall?
During their rehearsal, Daniel struggles with the song’s high notes, as he does during the performance, but it’s enough to get Adam Levine’s vote. Blake, however, thinks that Alexis has this one in the bag. Cee Lo’s choice? Surprisingly, he goes for Daniel, despite Alexis’ almost flawless performance.
Did he choose the right one?
Next, Team Adam’s Brandon Mahone and Nicole Nelson are singing a classic duet, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
Brandon is clearly nervous as he learns the song. He’s young, but his “old soul” may carry him through…if he only believes in himself.
During the battle, Brandon definitely steps up his game, making Adam oh so proud. Both Blake and Christina think that Nicole won in their minds, but Cee Lo is pullin’ for Brandon. And Adam? He also thinks that Nicole gave the better performance.
Levine is upset that no one stole Brandon, but there’s still many battles to go.
After a few more battles, Christina’s powerhouses, MarissaAnn and Devyn DeLoera are going head-to-head singing “Free Your Mind.”
MarissaAnn worries that at 15, her age may cripple her in the competition, but during rehearsals, she seems be be doing just fine.
They both give an awesome performance, but it’s Devyn who Christina decides to keep…leaving MarissaAnn for Blake to steal!
