Jef Holm Was Not Ready To Be A Dad To Emily Maynard’s Daughter

October 23, 2012 12:00 PM by Lisa Princ

Emily Maynard and Jef Holm are the talk of Bachelor-nation these days, ever since the news broke that the couple were splitting up. While sources recently said that Emily was miserable, more have since come forward to reveal that it was in fact, the The Bachelorette winner Jef Holm, who was not ready to be a dad, thus the failed relationship.

While the split of Emily Maynard and Jef Holm may not have come as a shock, fans have been wondering what the real reason for the breakup was. Could it be that Jef Holm was not ready to deal with Emily’s daughter, Ricki? That’s exactly what one source told Radar Online recently, claiming: “Jef just wasn’t ready to be a dad to Ricki and didn’t realize the commitment that would be required of him by having this little girl in his life.”

Hmm, wasn’t that the same line we heard about Brad Womack? It sounds very familiar – a likely excuse, perhaps? Meanwhile, the same source goes on to explain that Jef and Emily would like to remain friends, adding: “They are extremely saddened that the relationship didn’t work out.”

And just in case you’re wondering about any of the photos that have surfaced of the couple together, there is no reconciliation happening. “They are trying to remain amicable though and he was getting his things ready to pack up and leave North Carolina over the weekend when they were photographed together. Jef will be headed back to Utah in the next several days,” the source concluded.

What do you think of Emily Maynard and Jef Holm’s split? Were you rooting for them? We know you have an opinion and we’d love to hear it. Post a comment below and tell us all about it!

I think its Emily, it only proves you can be beautiful but it takes more than beauty to keep your man.

I think it was Emily too. I defintely think there is a side to her that she doesn’t want people to know is there. But there is definitely more to her than meets the eye. I was rooting for them though!

I WAS rooting for them, it was hard not to seeing how they were on the show with each other. I think Emily is the one that dumped Jef because she was asking him to sacrifice even more of his job than he already had in order to be with her and Ricki and be the best husband and father he could be. With Jef’s passion for PeopleWater and as co-founder, he couldn’t let his company go on without him just to meet emily’s wants, thus ending the relationship. I do believe they still love each other.

I do not believe she will ever find a lasting relationship. Her expectations are impossible. Men can not play second fiddle for long. She has to find a way to make the man in her life #1 and they can together make the child #1. A man needs to feel he has some sort of priority in her life…Until she figures that out…it ain’t gonna happen for her.

I agree with Sammy. Emily will never be happy until she gets her priorities in order. She is trying to control the relationship. I was hoping that maybe this would work out. Wasn’t crazy about Jef when he first showed up, but by the end of the show I really loved him. Someone will make him very happy one day. Not too sure about Emily.

In order to be happy, Emily needs to get help to deal; with Riki’s father death. She will always love him,but she will always the memories. Their are support groups that can deal with this issues.Jef’s friendship can be good; because he is a good guy; and he stills loves her. That is why she can;t hold on to a guy long term. For right now until she comes to terms with this, she won’t be happy. Once she is able to deal with this, I hope she can be happy.

She should have picked Arie. At least with his travel schedule, she’d have Mom-time with Ricki and could look at herself in the mirror non-stop for days while he’s racing. I wasn’t surprised. As for Emily’s chances for a happy relationship: zero. She’s too into herself. If she really wanted this relationship to work with Jef, she should have been the one to move – as his business is centered in his home state. If she’s staying in Charlotte to appease the Hendricks family, then shame on her and on Rick Hendricks. He has planes. Let him fly to his granddaughter whenever he wants to see her and let Emily have a life. She’s so messed up now with so many broken relationships that I doubt she’ll ever be any good for any man.

Emily is just a high maintenance princess. Jef was doomed from the beginning.I was shocked this charade lasted so long.
Jef and Emily should be in Utah where his business is located. She indicated on the show what a great place it was. But no, he stays in a pad in Charlotte to be bekoned at her whim. What is wrong with that Picture? She is not serious..this is all showbusiness to her. She found a great guy and screwed it up. She and her daughter together are not worth it.

In reality, the gossip sources only report a miniscule amount of what transpires and usually with a twist to garner attention. Whatever the reason(s) for their breakup, it is most disappointing. Emily wanted a man to take charge and Jef probably more then anyone fit this. The TV show included some serious discussions between Emily and other suitors on merging their lives. Unfortunately Ricki is quickly learning a little more about life but she will ultimately survive and do well. Hey it’s most everyone’s dream to marry and have children. I hope Emily finds her man.
