Lindsay Lohan must have an incredible legal budget every year. The Punk’d star is always finagling her way out of legal mires. It seems Lindsay Lohan faces new charges every month, doesn’t it? Well, her legal all-star team got her out of trouble again today. She was scheduled to appear in court over a fender bender that took place on Sept 21st, but no charges were filed.
The prosecution is remaining tight lipped about the whole ordeal, but Lohan’s spokespeople released a statement saying “As we said from the beginning, this is a big nothing.” Are they trying to say the victim is money hungry?
Lindsay was originally charged with leaving the scene of an accident. The reports say that restaurant worker Jose Rodriguez claimed her Porsche hit him and injured his knee as she turned from a Manhattan street into an alley by the Dream Hotel. Police said no alcohol was involved. Rodriguez was simply walking by when the incident occurred.
Jose Rodriguez did call emergency services, was taken to the hospital, and Lohan was issued an appearance ticket before being released. Police recently released a grainy surveillance tape of the incident that shows Lohan’s car turning as Rodriguez passed in front of it. Blurring to conceal witnesses’ faces partially obscures the scene, and it’s not clear exactly what happens as he is in front of the car. The video does show him staying on his feet and walking after the car as it continues into the alley.
This incident took place while Lohan was still on “Informal” probation stealing a necklace from a jewelry store in Venice, Calif. last year; she spent 35 days on house arrest in that case. While she isn’t required to check in with a judge or probation officer, she could face a jail term if she gets in further trouble.
This is just the latest brush with the law that Lohan has faced; this comes on the heels of a fight with her mom a few weeks ago and a failed intervention last week.
What do you think is next for Lindsay? Do you think she’ll be back in rehab or jail soon? Let us know in the comments!
