Punk’d stars Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel wed on October 19 in a fairytale wedding that most people can only imagine in their dreams. But it was what happened after the couple said, “I do” that is getting attention and angering people everywhere. What was it? A wedding video that mocks homeless people, transvestites, and street musicians. What’s up with that?
According to New York Daily News, a video was shown at the Timberlake and Biel wedding that showed homeless people well wishing the couple on the marriage. As the video begins a homeless man who is missing several teeth says, “Greetings from your friends who couldn’t make it.” Then he adds, “Jessica and Justin, I haven’t seen y’all in a long time. My gift is in the mail.”
Next up on the video is a man obviously dressed in women’s clothing who issued Biel the following warning, “Good luck and watch your man,” he laughs.
Obviously, this was some type of prank and the people in the video do not know Timberlake and Biel. So why would someone make this video? And why show something like this at such an up-scale and private wedding? Or anytime for that matter?
The person responsible for producing the video is Justin Huchel, who is a friend of Timberlake and a Los Angeles real estate agent. His attorney, Michael Saltz explained, “Specifically, Mr. Huchel made a video to be used and exhibited privately at Justin Timberlake’s wedding as a private joke without Mr. Timberlake’s knowledge.”
After the video hit the internet, Huchel’s attorney posted a letter saying the video was copyrighted and had been stolen. Nevertheless, do you think this is an appropriate way to play a joke on someone?
Some people think the video is funny while others are offended and angry saying it’s tacky and disgusting. Tell us what you think. Was this video nothing more than a harmless joke? Or do you find it a disgusting representation of poor taste and poking fun at those who are less fortunate? Can you believe Justin and Jessica would actually play a video like this at their wedding? Sound off and let us know what you think by posting a comment below.
