As if her bankruptcy woes weren’t stressful enough, Braxton Family Values star Toni Braxton is now being accused of fraudulently wiring $53,490 to her estranged husband in 2010. Toni denies all wrongdoing, but what else does she have to say about the accusations?
Toni Braxton has been struggling financially for a long time, thanks to a stalled career and massive amounts of debt. These financial issues prompted the Unbreak My Heart singer to declare bankruptcy back in 2010. Since then, the singer has continued to struggle, even with the success of reality show Braxton Family Values and a number of other opportunities that have opened up as a result of the show.
The latest drama in Toni Braxton’s life involves an accusation of fraudulent money wiring. According to the trustee of Toni’s bankruptcy estate, the singer fraudulently transferred over $50,000 to estranged husband Keri Lewis in hopes of avoiding back creditor payments. The trustee is now suing Toni in hopes of recovering that money.
Predictably, Toni Braxton denies all wrongdoing. She adds that she is willing to provide the bankruptcy trustee whatever information is necessary to have her name cleared. Toni’s rep told TMZ, “All of the payments made to Lewis prior to Toni’s bankruptcy filing were appropriate transfers for reasonable and necessary personal and business expenses in the ordinary course of her business.”
Do you think that Toni Braxton is at fault and in need of a thorough evaluation of her “family values?” Or was this yet another honest mistake in a long line of financial mishaps? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below!
