The X Factor Recap: Performances Go Live!

October 31, 2012 09:15 PM by Gina Hall

Baseball is over, so don’t fear the rescheduling of your favorite show, “The X Factor.” But what Halloween surprises do Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Simon Cowell and LA Reid have in store?

The new hosts are on tonight,  Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian. What did you think? Are you ready to give Khloe a chance? The categories come out on stage with their mentors.  The Top 16 will perform tonight with no voting. Tomorrow night the judges will figure out which four acts are  going home.

The theme is “Made in America,” whatever that means.  First up is Paige Thomas, wearing a very strange sci-fi get up.  She gives it her all with “What is Love” by Haddaway. Simon says that she’s  an artist who could work in the real world and that she nailed it.

Arin Ray is up next from the teen group. He sings “You Keep Me Hanging On” by the Supremes. It’s not anything horrific, but it’s nothing special. The judges aren’t that impressed except for  Britney, who says he’s a little genius. But she’s biased as she’s his mentor.

David Correy is up next from the over 25 group. He sings “My Love Is Your Love” by Whitney Houston. It’s not too shabby and the crowd certainly seemed to like it.

Sister C’s is up next. We start with Simon telling them that the audience doesn’t really like them and that they need to work on that.  They sing  ”Hell on Heels” and the lead singer looks like she’s experiencing hell in heels, she looks very concerned about the shoes she’s not used to wearing.

Jennell Garcia is up and she sings “Home Sweet Home.” Jennell’s performance is decent. Demi Lovato’s stylists did something to Jennell’s hair, it looks a little freaky. But it must work because Demi tells Jennell after her performance that she feels like crying.

Diamond White is up. She sings Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister.” It’s an odd choice for a 13-year-old, but she pulls it off and all the judges like it.

Vino Alan is up with “Gotta Be Somebody” by Nickelback. The judges don’t really care for it and Vino has to stand and take their critiques. Simon says that Vino should be more of a soul singer than a rock singer.

Lyric 145 is up from the groups group. They go a little old school rap with “Boom! Shake The Room” by Fresh Prince, that’s Will Smith for all you young people. LA Reid loves them and Britney said she was genuinely entertained.

Carly Rose Sonenclar (Teens) – “Good Feeling” by Flo Rida
Carly Rose Sonenclar from the Teen group sings “Good Feeling” by Flo Rida. L.A. says he didn’t feel like she was having fun. Demi says Carly has one of the best voices in this competition. Simon says it looked like she struggled and Britney says her vocals were amazing.

Emblem3 is another group of note. They sing “One Day” and the he girls go nuts for them. L.A. said  it was unbelievable. Britney calls them adorable. Demi said cute boys make her swoon. Simon tells us that we are seeing a future superstar.
