Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are not only loved on The Voice where Shelton is a judge, and Lambert has mentored the contestants, but the couple are also two of Country music’s most popular artists. And the pair proved that last night at the 2012 CMA Awards when they won very big! The full list of winners is inside…
Last night at the 2012 County Music Awards, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert proved, once again, that they are great at what they do. The couple who tied the knot last year, won Female and Male Vocalist of The Year, and Blake also won Entertainer of The Year. But the biggest win for the pair was the coveted award for Song Of The Year for Over You, which is performed by Miranda, but was written by both of them.
The win was very emotional, as Blake Shelton explained the story behind the tune: “I lost my brother in a car wreck when I was 14-years-old. When I decided I wanted to be a country singer, my dad always told me, ‘Son, you should write a song about your brother.’” Meanwhile, his wife Miranda choked back the tears as she said: “Thank you, Blake, for allowing me to sing this beautiful song and write it with you. It’s really emotional. We love y’all.”
The rest of the winners included:
New Artist of the Year
Vocal Group of the Year
Little Big Town
Vocal Duo of the Year
Album of the Year
Chief by Eric Church
Single of the Year
Pontoon by Little Big Town

Feel Like a Rock Star by Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw
