Project Runway All Stars bid farewell to Wendy Pepper last night after she failed to impress the judges with her take on a 70’s disco themed outfit. Wendy admits, “I definitely detected my design was not well received. You have strong days and weak days and I think when you’re an All Star, you can’t afford to have a weak day.”
According to Lifetime, Wendy talks about her design choice saying, “I think the design I chose was very ambitious and it took me way outside my comfort zone,” but she admits, “I really have to say I’m not sorry I tried it.” She explains, “There’s always tomorrow and everyone in the creative field understands that you put your best foot forward every day and some are winners and some are losers but the next day everything is fresh and we all start anew.”
Wendy talks about how it felt when the judges told her she was out, “Of course no one likes to fail,” she said. “Everyone comes to all stars to compete as hard as they can and win – and I’m no exception.” But at the end of the day Wendy said, “I really have phenomenal respect for everybody in my industry.” She continues, “I know what a tough industry it is and it’s just better to help each other in the end. All of the boats rise if we help each other.”
There’s an old saying, hindsight is 20-20, but when Wendy ponders the question of whether she would go back and change something if she could, she said, “I’ve lived my whole life as every day is just a fresh adventure. I never look back.” She explains, “I’m always grateful for every opportunity that comes my way and I never second guess my decisions. All of the good and bad come together to form the wonderful kaleidoscope that is my life and I have to say I’ve had a blast.”
What did you think of Wendy’s disco inspired design? Do you agree with the judges? Or do you think they got it wrong? Post a comment and let us know.
