Sharon Osbourne revealed her America’s Got Talent departure months ago, but it turns out that this will not be the only change in store for the reality competition’s eighth season. The latest gossip suggests that the show is about to undergo a major shakeup — and that could include getting rid of self-proclaimed “America’s judge” Howard Stern.
The fact that Sharon Osbourne will no longer grace the America’s Got Talent judging panel has finally begun to sink in, but now, it appears that two of the three judging positions could be open for the taking. Howard Stern has already mentioned his ambivalence, citing concerns over his busy schedule. Now, an insider has told The Daily Mail that it’s not all talk on Howard’s part — he seriously is considering leaving the show. “At this time, there are questions over whether Howard wants to return. Neither of the Howards have signed up again yet, but it’s Stern who is being vocal about the fact he may not come back.”
Apparently, Howard is waiting to see who Simon Cowell selects to fill the huge shoes left empty by the lovely Sharon Osbourne. “It will certainly depend on who the new third judge is.” Or fourth judge, for that matter. The insider added, “Simon [Cowell] wants every detail to be perfect…He was buoyed by the success of the last Britain’s Got Talent, where there were two new judges. Who knows – there may even be a fourth judge brought on to AGT like the UK.”
