Seaside Heights, New Jersey is the place that made the cast of Jersey Shore known to the world, so it was no wonder that cast members were distraught when the area was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy last week. Now, Snooki, JWoww, and the rest of the cast are pulling together for a benefit to rebuild the shore that was so gracious to them!
When Hurricane Sandy hit the tri-state area last week, she did not go easy on New Jersey, known for its boardwalks and shore. Many of those boardwalks and shore spots were completely destroyed, including Seaside Heights, where the cast of Jersey Shore resided. Now, the gang of MTV’s hit show is planning on helping the place that welcomed them, and gave them their fame!
Restore the Shore is a benefit special that will air on MTV, which will feature the Jersey Shore cast (among other celebrities), who have teamed up with the nonprofit organization Architecture for Humanity, to try and get viewers to donate to the Restore The Shore fund. According to MTV: “The fund aims to collect donations that will be used to restore the famed Seaside Heights boardwalk. Additionally, other donations will be used to help support businesses and residents in the area in the wake of the storm.”
The special will air live on MTV on November 15. It should be interesting to see how much the cast members will donate to the fund – after all, Seaside made them famous.
