Back in September we reported on an intruder arrested at Miley Cyrus‘s house. The intruder, later identified as Jason Luis Rivera, was apprehended with a pair of scissors. Jason claimed during the fiasco that he he was Miley Cyrus’s husband, after being chased around Miley’s property. Some reports even stated he had a shrine set up to the Punk’d star. We’ve learned that now Miley is seeking a permanent restraining order against Jason!
Back when the incident happened, Jason Luis Rivera was originally spotted at a makeshift shrine in Miley’s backyard. When police attempted to make contact, Jason fled, and tried to get into one of Miley’s windows. Police then tried to apprehend him, but he wielded a pair of scissors. Thankfully, the police didn’t back off and they eventually got their guy. Jason was quoted as saying,“I am a friend of Miley Cyrus. I am. She’s my wife. Me and Miley have been friends for five years.”
He was obviously delusional, and immediately transported to jail. Rivera was originally held charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, and attempted burglary. Bail was set at $100,000. He pleaded not guilty to the charges, however, he was convicted and sentenced to 18 months. Miley was issued a temporary restraining order requiring Rivera to stay 500 yards away from her. Since this restraining order is temporary, Miley filed a request for a permanent restraining order against Jason requiring him to stay 1,000 yards away. This restraining order will help keep Miley safe in case he gets out of jail early, or still suffers from these delusions after his release.
We hope Miley gets the restraining order and that this man can get the mental help he needs!
