Michelle Duggar Hairdo: I Am Loving It

Michelle Duggar recently had a hair makeover. Her longtime gal pal and stylist, Cindy convinced the 19 Kids and Counting star to go with a more modern style. And just before turning 46, Michelle took the plunge. Cindy took eight inches off Michelle’s long locks and took her from a curly look to a straight one. So how is Michelle adjusting to her new look? And what does Jim Bob and their brood think of mom’s new look?
According to Yahoo, Michelle said, “Going from curly to totally straight was a shock for me, but I am loving it and I have been doing both styles, curly and straight, since the cut.” But she isn’t the only one adjusting to her new look. “I know Jim Bob likes it long and I am trying to impress him — what he likes is what I want,” Michelle said. “I think he was a little shocked at first, it was so straight and so different.” She added, “But he does like it.”
And what about the kids? Do they like the new change in mom? “Little Josie kept touching my hand and saying, ‘Mommy? Mommy? Mommy?’” Michelle said of their youngest daughter, 2. “She wanted to make sure I was still me.”
Michelle’s hairdo hasn’t changed in 40 years so it must have been she must have been a bit nervous about having the makeover. “I can trust Cindy,” she said. “But my back was to the mirror and I didn’t know how much I got taken off.” She added, “It was too funny when I realized how much was gone! And it felt so light.”

She looks younger! I still haven’t figured out how they NEVER wear pants yet they can wear makeup, get perms and pierce there ears. Being in a non-denominational church since teen years I understand the dress but I don’t get the rest. Hopefully the new look won’t lead to baby #20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely love the new look. It is refreshing and is definitely making you look younger. It’s one thing to have your husband love long hair BUT you are the one taking care of it. Keep the new look. It is very becoming.

Michelle, I LOVE your new hairdo! I also think it’s great that you finally took some time out just to do something for yourself. It seems that you’re always doing something to make everyone else happy….and there are so many people in your family that, by the time you get around to yourself, well, you’re totally worn out. You deserve to be happy, too. Yes, I know that making Jim Bob and your kids and grandkids happy also makes you happy….but sometimes you need to take just a little time for you. I think that you and I could be really good friends; I’d love to meet you.

Who cares? People are freezing, without shelter or power in the Northeast..who in there right mind has that many kids and then a tv network gives them a show and plays right into it. There are many more deserving people out there who deserve a breadk

I do not get how people say it is irresponsible for them to have as many children as they do. They do not take food stamps, they are not taking rent assistance, they are not on medicaid or whatever it may be called in their state. Michelle is frugal with money, and Jim Bob works hard doing what he needs to do to EARN their money. They also – SURPRISE! – help many others, as that is what the Lord tells them to do. So their own children see them working hard, making ends meet and relying upon themselves, and that is what they will do when they go out into the world. Not rely upon taxpayers to pay their bills, or pay for their lives.
This couple – this family – is a living testament to love, in its purest form.
And Michelle ROCKS that haircut! love it!

Was the reason she had a makeover the same reason Kate Goesslin did. Is Big Bob going out and messin around with someone new. Wait about 6 months and see how this family is coming along. Does this mean the kids get to change their looks. I think these people are just plain nuts.

Calling someone nuts and irresponsbile because they have a lot of children is ridiculous. I know people who have one child and are totally screwed up. i would rather see 19 healthy, upright, stable children be added to the world than one single snot-nosed brat. This family does well with what they have been given. They are anything but irresponsible.

I believe that not only does Michelle’s hair look lovely, but she also has a beautiful, caring heart, following the Lord’s word to raise her children with caring, sharing and giving hearts and to also love unconditionally, as Michelle and her husband do. I agree with Jules comment above…that it is far better for the world to be blessed with a family who shares and cares with those in need, rather than a spoiled, selfish person who doesn’t care about anyone but themselves. God bless this family and I pray that they prosper and continue to grow in Jesus’ knowledge and love. Thank you for sharing your life with us…the Duggars’s are a good example of a family who let God’s light shine through them, in this troubled world. Amen.

I think Michelle’s new hair style looks lovely. That being said, I wish she would do what pleases her too and not just Jim-bob. although that’s important, a good sense of self worth is best. If he doesn’t like it, maybe it’s the green monster closing in. Jealousy is ugly, but his wife isn’t.

I don’t understand the first comment. I am an orthodox Jew and I NEVER wear pants, AND, as a married lady, cover my hair. But I get my lashes tinted, hair colored, love wearing make up and do various other spa services as needed. What does one thing have to do with another? As far as the people hating on them for having so many kids, I know of many, many people who have kids in the double digits (13+kids) . What strikes me here is how many of these people would probably consider themselves to be worldly people, but are so ignorant of groups that live nearby (i.e. in your own country).

Mrs. Duggar looks very attractive with curly, long hair. This is obviously her natural hairstyle and I could see no reason to alter it– her shorter style is far less attractive.
I hope she doesn’t try to have a 20th child (again), a more pressing issue. The illness of Josie and death of the last child clearly show that her body is no longer able to manage so many pregnancies, but I am sure she’ll pay no attention to this as religion always seems to run women’s lives.

To those who are miffed about her saying she wants to do something to impress her husband and do what he likes, don’t most women do this? Why do they put on make-up? Why do you wear those painfully high heels? Or sexy lingerie? It makes you feel good, but it also makes your significant other happy. I do lots of things for my husband because it makes him happy, and he reciprocates. It’s called a marriage.

I thought her hair was just an easy style because of time constraints having sooo many children! I often just “scrunch” my hair curly (like hers) when I am in a super hurry! Lately though, some of her curls have not seemed to match the rest, almost like a hairpiece, even in this picture! It was indeed time for a change! Straightening hair with natural curls takes longer to style, so having a stylist will help! She seems to be a great mother, and of course, it is essential they remain perfectly proper “for the camera”. We’ve seen the other children helping her> as they should! They have been excellent examples, and each will raise up and call her/them blessed! There is so much interaction, enthusiasm, with more~ esp within home schooling/musical/field trip ventures. We attend a Cstn school that doesn’t have as many children as the Dugger’s in grades k-12 combined!
Bless and Keep this family who do keep the right values especially mixed up in TV world! ~& She does look great! Maybe perhaps as a grandmother, it is time to stop having children. I say this because by our choice we stopped trying when our only son was born with multiple problems. By Gd’s grace he has overcome now, but I emphasize that WE decided not to take that risk! Thus it left us with a very small family and a somewhat lonely child. It does have it’s drawbacks with it’s simplicity~ ALL OF OUR RELATIVES CHOSE TO SHOP on THANKSGIVING, so we took a trip instead; I am sure this family had a traditional day with Thankfulness in the center of the festivities! We all can learn from them! I wish our own relatives treasured connection~ BTW; The invitation of the Lord does not keep one young looking, doesn’t de-stress always, nor remove all worries! He is no respecter of persons and rain falls on all! It does keep you from eternity in Hell and reassures us of an intimate, ever present LOVE in whom we can TRUST -of which- creates a ‘peace’ in itself!

2 parents cannot provide adequately for the needs of that many children. We hear about how wonderful these 2- parent families are and then hear how dysfunctional they were from the children and/or one of the spouses years later after all the damage. There is no way to send any number of those children to college or tech school without a TV show. White families always get the privilege of TV shows whlle all these so-called approving bloggers would denigrate Black or Hispanic families despite the stats that most families on welfare are white and that 3/4 of food insecure families are also white and more whites use and deal drugs and engage in crime to do it. 1/2 of marriages end in divorce and more than half involve a cheating wife. Also, most plural marrriages and all these huge families do depend on welfare because of their irresponsibility. What can we learn from them? Get a TV show to raise all the children you cannot afford? How about a little reality -testing!

I just hope to God she lets her daughters get a makover. She makes them wear crap that would not be out of place on Little House on the Prairie. I’ve seen this show exactly once and wanted to free those poor daughters. They ones who were old enough to realize how tacky they look were all but blinking “help me!” in Morse code.
Oh, and they can aftord to pay for the kids without food stamps etc because THEY ARE ON TV. They star in a TV SHOW for CASH. They also admitted that a lot of that barn that thry live in was comped.
Finally, I dont care how nice you are, how how well-intentioned you may be– it is a human impossibility to really give the kind of nuturing that a child needs when you have that many. The older ones are no doubt raising the younger ones– paying the price for their parents’ narcissism. Sad.

Her outer beauty reflects only an infinitesimal fraction of what her inner beauty/heart has to shine upon us. For it is in her good works: her passionately cleaving to her mate; her shining example of womanhood for her daughters; understanding and uplifting the fragile ego of each male child. (This is so often forgotten and overlooked by mothers, when fostering our sons’ belief in themselves.) Michelle very astutely understands that when a woman genuinely admires and believes in her mate/son he will go out, and bring back to her, the world;
I believe that this woman, Michelle, through example, has taught her children and the world: humility, patience, generousity in word, thought, deed, love and spirit.
Mainly, it has been her inner light/beauty, that continues to teach/show me how to be a kinder and sweeter wife, mother, sister, etc, She has mostly reflected the way to being a truer and more grateful child, of our Creator.
No outer makeover, can ever capture the true beauty that lies within Michelle Duggar’s selfless and beautiful heart.

I agree with all the positive comments above. To have a large family is their desire, and they are doing it well. We do not all have to imitate them, our goals and choices are our own. We need to LIVE AND LET LIVE. These people are productive members of our society, and should be complimented.

Is this news? I think Michelle should stop having kids for the simple reason that she has all the other kids watching them and doing all the chores. They also don’t seem to have too many job choices when they get older other than selling cars. They need to get a real life, and maybe some more education.

If the Duggars want to have 50 children what business is it of anyone else? Since they take care of all of their children and do not use welfare what is the problem? And if over population is an issue what about all of the illegal immigrants who come to the US, keep having lots of children and abuse our welfare system? That again is not all of them but quite a lot of illegals in the county where I live and work do this. The rest of us work several jobs, are in school online and taking care of our own families. Just sayin’.

She looks absolutely beautiful! She is a wonderful mother and has wonderful children…also, its between her and her husband how they live their lives. If they want 10 more kids and everything she does is to please her husband, at least she has well behaved, respectful children, a thriving marriage and seems very happy. As a naturally curly-haired girl myself..I just have to say that it’s pretty gutting when people keep mentioning how much better you look when/if you (temporarily) straighten your hair.
It isn’t that the compliments aren’t appreciated but you have to understand that the perfectly bone-straight hair-thing is WORK when one has extremely curly hair. It requires a great deal of energy and time (which I’ll just take a leap here and say I assume the Mum of 19 and counting does not have a whole lot of extra time).
The flat-straight look can not be achieved easily and so the compliments are a double-edged sword. It would similar to a very diminutive person wearing 7 inch heels one day..and everyone saying how fab the person looks, being 7 inches taller..and furthermore, the person should do it more often. Or maybe if a bald guy wore a tupee and received rave reviews. See what I mean..?!
My own hair is extremely curly and extremely long (the only way to deal with hair with that much curl is to let it grow & grow bc the weight is necessary if you want to avoid the ‘frizzy blues’). It’s because of this that I’ll say that Mrs. Duggar has beautiful, healthy-looking hair and it’s lovely either way.

Let’s hope Jim Bob is no longer attracted to her so they will not continue to have babies for the other children to raise. It is not just whether they can support the children financially but no one has time to emotionally support that many people or to give each child the necessary attention. Plus, don’t get me started on the carbon footprint of that family. EGADS!! You would think that last baby with all her health issues would convince them it’s time to stop. I think “the Lord” is telling them as well.
And I’m sure the money from the show helps, so they are not supporting themselves totally.
Did they donate to Locks of Love? All of the girls need to get a makeover and donate their hair. That mom seems so selfish. She should just enjoy her grandchildren now and let them be in the spotlight for a change. She likes the attention when she is pregnant, then just hands the baby over to the next oldest child to raise. Those poor girls end up being teen moms whether they like it or not. It would be interesting to truly know how the kids feel when mom announces another pregnancy.
She is the person behind the statement “it’s a uterus, not a clown car”.

I think Michelle NEEDED to update her look. And this style is great on her! However, I have a problem understanding why anyone would have so many kids. There are already so many children in this world who don’t have ANY parents & would love to find a loving couple to adopt them. It’s not that the Duggars don’t care properly for their many children. It’s that the world is so totally overpopulated NOW. In a few more years think how many descendants of the Duggars there will be. What if each Duggar child had 19 kids of his/her own? What if every single person from M & JB’s generation had 19 children themselves? Can you see the ultimate effect this would have on each of us on this planet? Will Earth’s limited resources even hold out?

40 yaers .is too too long to have a hair makeover.It looks great, now work on the whole family and not have the older kids raising the younger ones, because I see a futre of resentment for you and your husband with the older children.I came from a family of 8 children and I know form experience what will and can happen, even in your lifestyle. I think Michelle ‘s new hairstyle looks very nice. I think that people should stop criticizing her for having such a large family. In America, we all have the right to practice our religion A’s we choose. If you want to use abortion and birth control so that you have only a few children that is your right. But other women have the right to choose to do the opposite, which is to have many children. This is America, both choices are allowed! (and Michelle’s husband was very rich BEFORE they had the tv show).

She looks great, I live a city away from her and have seen their family at auctions etc, My family have lots of kids as well, In Arkansas it is common to have large familys. My mom was a Skaggs and she had 13 siblings, and lots more family had large familys. But her hair is stylish and nice she needs to look as pretty as she pleases, and not worry about the people who frown on her for having a large family–GOD has a part in it as well

Why is it disgusting for a woman to want to impress her husband? I am sure that most women at some point have tried to impress a man to get him to date or marry them… why not do it as a married woman. Of course he will return the favor, a good man does that. Let me get this straight. If she were to want to have an abortion it would be “her choice” but if she wants to keep having kids we get an opinion??? If you are pro choice then be pro choice all the way and let her choose how many kids is right for her.
As for the older kids helping with the younger, what is wrong with that? I helped with my younger siblings and we only had 4. They grow up to be responsible. The kids may not hate it that much, they are choosing the same lifestyle.
And as for those of you saying “they only have money because they are on tv”. Well, if you we’re on tv you would expect to make some money. What does it matter if they make it that way? Plenty of others make it the same way and nobody complains.

I started reading the comments and stopped because of the sickening comments, I hope Michelle Duggar doesn’t read this garbage.
1) The hair is great!
2) I see nothing wrong with her wanting to impress her husband. Maybe if more women were like her the divorce rate wouldn’t be so damn high. It’s not like she says “I hate my hair long but because Jim Bob likes it long I keep it that way”. I always try to look my best for my husband, I mean who doesn’t want their husband to be attracted to them?
3) How many kids she has isn’t anyone’s business except theirs. They take care to raise their own kids physically, emotionally and financially. IF you watched the show you would know that they make money off of renting out business properties. Of course the show pays them SOMETHING but what about the other crap on tv? Jersey Shore, The Kardashians etc do you not think they get paid also? (probably a helluva lot more than the Duggars also).
4) for those who think she should not have more kids because of what happened with Josie. Well how many parents out there have a bad pregnancy experience and still have more? Michelle had Kidney stones and that was the root of all the problems with Josie (having her come so early). I guess my neighbour with the Autistic child should have stopped at one? Or perhaps when I had a miscarriage back in April I should have taken that as a “sign” not to have any children? How ridiculous! If this would have happened with her first child I bet many of you would be saying that she shouldn’t let it stop her from having more children. My friend who went into early labour and delivered her baby boy at 25 weeks should surely not try for a number two right? it’s just cannot be in the plans for her *rolls eyes*.

From watching the show her children are very mature and responsible, they are not running amuck causing trouble in the world. I would much rather see her have 20 more then some people I know ever birthing ONE child.

I really think you look younger and fantastic. I think the day of home perms is done. For the people that are critical of you for having a large family, i would guess they have never watched how wonderfully you have raised ALL of you kids. Do you know muslims have an average of 8 kids per family?! Caucasions average less than 2 kids per family. We need a lot more Duggers having kids, so don’t knock them! About time she returned from the 80s or 70s with the wispy little bangs. But on the show she couldn’t wait to return to the crunchy curls of before. Sad that she is so concerned about Jim Bob. How ridiculous. Wish she could do something to make herself happy and not worrying about that selfish man. He has every piece of heavy equipment known to man but he buys his kids’ shoes and clothes at a thrift store, 2nd hand shoes. How disgusting. It looks very nice. I love it. If you need someplace to donate it. I have recently lost 2/3 of my hair due to medications i am required to take because of my epilepsy. I have taken many other types of meds we are finally figuring out a combination that works for me. But unfortunately that may mean a wig for me. I would love to have hair. If could have that curly hair i wouldn’t get rid of the length. I would at least donate it to those who lose their hair due to medical issues. Like cancer patients. Locks of love is a great place to donate especially 8 inches.

Michelle looks gorgeous and so young! Wow! Michelle has moved into a new stage of life. A new look is just the “pick me up” some women need when the child bearing stage has passed. Michelle loved bringing children into the world. I won’t speak for God, but Jim & Michelle know the severe threat another pregnancy poses to Michelle’s & a new baby’s life. Their youngest daughter is blessed to be alive. Now they are walking into a new stage of life: watching all the grandchildren be born and raised by their amazing children. Passing the torch can be difficult.
Everyone women strongly feels the need for change at some point in life. Mine came at the 50 year birthday. Took control of my weight problem and had a make over. Noone could hardly recognize me. Looked better than I ever did my whole life.
Anyone who critizes other people lives is suffering from jealously, anger management problems or just a plain old mean spirit. Take a hard look at your own life first and correct your own troubles.

I think the straight hair does make her look younger and more attractive. Sorry – I think this woman and her husband are two irresponsible, disgusting people. I think having this amount of children is self-serving since once the first four or five start growing up they wind up caring for the rest of the brood. I do not believe for one minute they do not get help…with the economy as it is, I know people with few children have problems. What income do they have for the trips they have taken (paid by the network is still taking “help”….put the brood out there and pay us for the episodes. I think they are phonies and having figured out how all these kids can make life easier for them they decided to go for it….the certainly do not pay taxes with all those deductions. In order to clothe these children, have sheets for them,school supplies have to cost a fortune…or do the younger kids wear hand me downs from the older ones really caring and raising them. I would never watch this show as I find this couple utterly disgusting….they have no real sense of responsibility…They feel this is what the lord gives them…hogwash…By the way what is the condition of this 19th child? I want my hairstyle choices to please my husband, just as his hair (including facial hair) styles please me. There is nothing codependent or unhealthy about that. Generous, yes. Not disgusting.

I am a male and I am deplored at the negative comments by some of the narrow-minded women criticizing Michelle on here. I thought it was all about choice? As far a the family being able to pay for themselves, they made sure before the even were considered for a tv show that they would be self-sufficient. Its none of any of you negative nancies how much money they make or how much they have. They have learned to save and have the ability to flourish even in the midst of a bad economy. You negative nancies are just jealous. I don’t agree with their personal approach to Christianity but as so much of liberated women like to state, we shouldn’t judge. How convenient it is when you “liberated women” are presented with a different perspective than yours for you to lash out. The idea that women would be better leaders in the world because there would be less wars is a lie. This post with the negative comments against Michelle prove how vindictive some women are.

I like the straight hair on Michelle. As for those people who are “disgusted” by her wanting to please her husband, there is nothing wrong with that. She has her own brain, and she is a strong, seemingliy nice person. She also seems to be very intelligent. I challenge any of you to juggle home schooling, child care, a husband, a tv show, and public speaking to help other people make better people of themselves.. I doubt you could handle it. She is a good hearted woman, and her hubby seems to be a good hearted man. If they want to please each other, they must really love each other. More power to them! I am sure God is on their side…

I love it! I love her and I think her and her family are great. She looks younger and I say it’s about time she does something for herself! And I do not think it’s weird that she wants to make sure her husband likes it. It’s a little old fashioned for women to consider what their husbands like when it comes to their own fashion and look, but it works. Notice how they have 19 kids and still love each other? Maybe instead of thinking bad about it,people should consider their own lives first. I think the Duggars are awesome.

I don’t have a problem with her hoping that her husband likes her hair, because she wants to please him. He is her boyfriend and she is his girlfriend, and what dating couple doesn’t try to please the other? If you didn’t present an appearance that was attractive to the other, probably the other would be gone soon. That doesn’t mean he dictates to her. It just means she hopes he likes it. Some of you are overreacting to her statement, interpreting it as some sort of oppression/submission. I don’t see it like that at all, and I’m the first one to protect women’s rights to do what they want. It’s also her right to try to be attractive to the man she loves. I’m sure he hopes she likes his appearance, too.

wow the mean things said here are scary. How in the world can you dislike this family? I personally could not have that many children, and I am not a religious person, but this family had many kids LONG before they were offered a TV show. They have never asked the government to pay their bills. If they have the means to raise that many children then no one has the right to judge them. We have the right to say that it may not be for us, but we do not have the right to say they should not do it. They are have raised fairly polite, considerate, reasonable, responsible children. Which is better then quite a few other people can say. Their way may not be the ONLY way but it works for them and no one has the right to judge them. As for her hair, it is lovely on her. Hoping that her husband will like it is NATURAL. I don’t think any wife gets her hair done and says, “I hope my husband hates it” and if she does, she usually heading for a divorce. People really need to back off these people and worry about their own problems.

oh my goodness. You ladies have never worn that green shirt/little black dress/tight jeans because your man liked it? I know all of you have at one point or another! Why? Because as humans we gather enjoyment from pleasuring our mates. She knows that he thinks she tends to look better with long hair, so she mostly keeps it long, because she could prob care less but likes to see him smile. Just like you dress up for date night, or down for a romantic evening in. You know what your partner prefers to see so you take that into consideration!
As for the 19 kids thing that’s her choice. I don’t agree with her parenting style fully. But it’s her family not mine.
For the record I’m a 29yr old mother of 5, 3 of whom I’ve given birth to, 1 of which is special needs, I’ve had 12 misscarriages also. I’m not in debt at all, we don’t have a tv show, I’m ‘legaly’ a midget, oh and I’m a pagan

Anyone who has negative comments about this family and their “irresponsibillity” with the amount of children they have needs a life. The way these kids are raised, their beliefs, and kind hearts will hopefully even slightly make this world a better place.
There are enough people out there who are more “reasonable” or “responsible” with the amount of children they bring into the world and do not take care, nurture, or instill any valuable beliefs into their lives. They just breed. If the Duggar’s have this many kids and have the time to raise them and built their hearts with such love for God and each other, everyone else who doesn’t do this and has a lesser brood should feel disgusted. Leave this family alone.

I like the new hairdo, but there are more pressing concerns in her life. I wonder about having so many kids that she doesn’t have time to be involved with each of them individually – especially since she always has a new baby to tend to. The kids live in an institutional setting with all the girls in one room and all the boys in another, and with each younger kid paired with an older kid who is really the one taking care of them day to day. It’s not fair to saddle the older kids with raising the younger ones. But my biggest concern is that, by insisting upon continuing to try to have more babies, she is putting her OWN life in danger. THAT is the real irresponsibility here. By deliberately putting her own life in danger, she is putting all those kids in danger of being motherless, which would be disaster w/ that many kids. The kids would resent her emphasis on always having to have a NEW child instead of taking care of the ones she already has. She seems addicted to the attention she gets when pregnant and the thrill of a new baby, to the point where she’s willing to risk leaving 19 kids motherless. That is VERY selfish. So while she looks unselfish, her addiction to having a new baby is extremely selfish and if it leads to her death, will sow seeds of anger and bitterness in the children she already has. It’s a disaster waiting to happen unless she puts an end to it. God has told her to stop by showing her that her body can no longer do this. She needs to listen!

Overpopulation is a serious threat to this earth. The earth has finite resources ie. water, oil, gas, land for agriculture, etc. and when they become scarce maybe people will realize how overpopulation really affects everyone. So when the egotistical and self-serving Duggars choose to have 19 children, yes, it is my business, for me, my children and my grandchildren. I have one child; the Duggar children will use 19x the earth’s resources than mine. And their progeny will use expodentially that much more. Are all you people nuts not thinking that the numbe of children someone has does not affect everyone on this earth. BTW, illegal immigrants do not even come into the picture, I am talking global overpopulation, not US overpopulation.

Wow… The Duggers are living THEIR LIVES” according to THEIR TERMS. Just because something isn’t for right for one doesn’t make it wrong for all. I dress and do things to please my hubby of 23 years! That is whom I should be pleasing. So Michelle sounds like she is taking care of business. Good for her. Keep the marriage fresh! And if they want a hundred kids, so what. They are taking care of that too. As long as they are not asking for help or handouts, kids are healthy, happy, the man is happy and in his own home with his family, well more power to them. Why should she get on birth control? If people cant seem to get their teens on it why should a parent that takes care of their kids and is not on welfare? They provid for all their children and teach them good moral and values. If she wants to have more children it is their choice not ours. We should all learn from them and try to follow the Lord instead of pointing the finger. There is no reason why she should be concidered selfish bcause she does a pretty darn job taking care of everyone. Her children are taught to be loving, caring, and respectful there is no reason why they should have any negative feelings from them. We need more families like the Duggars. Michelle and her girls have their hair permed to make it curly. Their hair is NOT naturally curly. They regularly take extra time and expense to get it that way. curly, straight, wavy… all beautiful in their own way, ya’ll. Just get the facts straight (pun intended)!
As to personal feelings about the ‘do (the only thing the article explicitly invited), I’m actually a bit conflicted. The super straight look, when long, looks ‘older’ to me… but the fuller bangs accompanying the second style look more youthful.
I think she’d look younger–all around–with complete bangs (or a larger sweep of bangs with a dramatic side part) and either wavy long hair or bobbed (no higher than chin level, no longer than brushing the shoulders) straight hair.
Youthful/older looking… whichever style… I think she is a beautiful lady and I could only hope to age so gracefully.

i have also changed my appearance in the past month, i have gone from long curly hair to a straight below the shoulder length hair,and also a change of colour, i am loving the new me, i had cancer early in life and lost my hair due to that then, and ever since i did not want anyone touch my hair, but i tucked up the courage lately and my children who are now grown think that i lost yrs look younger more vibrant, they are delighted, my husband calls me his new wife, but i do remind him that i have the same old bark,
i am glad for michelle that she loves hers also, as mothers we need sometimes to show the rest that we too can try new things,
it gives a confidence as they say, a change is as good as a rest

I’ve been married 17yrs. We have six children and can’t imagine 19. They support themselves wih the show which is good. I don’t agree with their faith but wouldn’t hate anyone over it.

I remember liking the curls more…but then i started reading comments. I am so glad that Mrs. Duggar is willing to show the world that there are large christian families in this world. I married my husband years ago. He told me that if he hadnt married into my family he would have only had one or two children. (i was number six of 8) my sister and brother have each been blessed with seven and the Lord has blessed my family with six. If there is no one to show the world what a christian looks like than how will they know? As for overpopulation. I agree. the world is overpopulated with inconsiderate, selfish people because their mother didnt put their husbands before them and they ended up being single parents raising whatever number of children. (leaving their children to be raised by the world) However there is A GREAT SHORTAGE of true christians who can see the greater picture.

Hate the straight hair. It looks fried and over processed. It doesn’t make her look younger or updated. Her curls are better. She should grow out her bangs and where her hair wavy. It would look updated and she would look much younger.

I think the new hair is nice but it certainly doesn’t fool me into thinking that’s the only thing she changed about herself. The nose job and face lift is quite obvious. I’m not necessarily against cosmetic surgery, but it’s quite hypocritical for her in particular, considering her beliefs.

Amazes me how so many think their daughters “need”
their hair changed also. I would rather have a well adjusted child then one the public “thinks” is pretty anytime. What is between the ears is more important then what covers them. And I think the article was about her hair anyway. I truly believe that parents that can raise 19 well adjusted, healthy, show some respect children can surely decide when they need haircuts. I think they are extraordinary people doing a wonderful job of parenting. If you disagree, fine. Then you have 19 children and we’ll compare your talents in the parenting abilities and see who wins. She looks great.

I think she looks great!! Let them have all the babies they want it is none of our concern!! They were taking care of their family long before tv. they have made smart choices and manage their money well, being on tv isnt the only reason they are doing well!! i cant believe the hateful comments on this. if you don’t like them then why in the world are you looking… i would rather watch them instead of duck dynasty…toddlers in tiaras…honey booboo…jersy sluts that dress like whores. It’s odd that liberal, “emancipated” women are also some of the most narrow-minded women that i have ever had to deal with; even my own sister. for some reason, if you don’t “choose” to be like them, you are either abused, beat-down, or you are “stupid” and narrow-minded. My mom was the main income for our family; I have worked since i was 12, and NO ONE has ever paid my way. When I decided to change my work so that I could stay home with my kids, I suddenly lost about 50 IQ points as well as suddenly being considered some kind of “religious fanatic”-it’s so funny, if you choose a lifestyle that they approve of-lets say that as a mom, I stayed home while my WIFE went to work-that would be applauded, but doing the same thing with my husband, well that is wrong. Who’s business is it how I live my life?

I love the new do. As for the negative comments, even though there are 19 children, I have never heard the children spew jealousy, hatred, etc., that some of these people on here have posted. So obviously, something was done right in this household and we can sure tell how some of the people (haters) on here was raised and I’ll just take a guess that they (haters) was raised in a home with far less kids, so why bash the Duggars. Obviously the haters were not raised in a loving home. As for them wearing hand-me-down and thrift store clothes, so what? At least they do not believe in filling a landfill with still usable clothes. If you have ever been in a thrift or second-hand store, you will find clothes that are just like new. No disgrace in that and heaven forbid that the Duggars try to save money whenever possible. I’ll bet the Duggars have more money in savings than others on here have. And as for them making money from tv, they are doing what it takes to raise a family. They have been on air for what–7 years or so, and guess what? They had quite a few children before the show and you know what? They still provided for all the kids and still not taking any assistance from the government. So what if the house may have been comped? If we were all in the same situation, wouldn’t we have taken the comp too? As for the clothes (dresses) they wear. I would rather my daughter wear what they wear than what I see millions of girls wear (or don’t wear). They are only asking for trouble. If you don’t like the show, don’t watch it. I have enough sense to know not to watch a show I don’t like. It only stresses a person out and then you become bitter. Get the point. The only reality shows I watch are the Duggars and Duck Dynasty. On Duck Dynasty they don’t cuss, fight, etc. that are on the other reality shows. Oh and by the way, on Duck Dynasty, they pray. Maybe if you don’t like the Duggars, you can watch Duck Dynasty. Oh what was I thinking? Praying and living as a Christian does not fit your lifestyle.

I don’t get this family at all, and for the most part, I am a “live and let live” kind of person. But I want to say something to those who don’t understand why people criticize them for so many children:
1. When the Bible said “Go forth and multiply,” it was referring to a time in history when there were far fewer people on the earth AND medical advancements didn’t exist, so half or more of babies born did not survive to adulthood. Obviously, we live in a different era.
2. Bringing that many new lives into a world with so many orphans is irresponsible (and hypocritical for such professed Christians) on two levels. First, they are not in any way “caring for the least of these,” as in, children without families.
Second, the carbon footprint of such an enormous family is huge, and in this age of an overpopulated earth, that is irresponsible.
3. Without parading their children on “reality TV,” they’d have a much more difficult time affording to care for this family on their own. I realize they are not using gov. assistance (except, you know, the many tax deductions, etc. they have), but without the exhibitionism of forcing their children to live in the public eye, they wouldn’t get big portions of their housing construction comped.
4. They may be a lovely family with morals, but she is a only a good role model for her daughters if they plan to live exactly as she has. If they get out into the wider world, she has modeled for them that submitting to men is the way women are supposed to live – and that worries me greatly for her daughters. And the sons, well, they’ll believe that women were made to submit to them. I’m thinking the world doesn’t need more of that.

hairstylists should know that to change ones look and still maintain the “You” can be done by creating many different styles without chopping everything off and creating a plain look.
she looked natural in the pic on the left. why mess with natural looks. and the color was gorgeous prestylist. was the stylist just experimenting some new technique, i say get a new stylist. and quick.
natural is best and dont worry it will grown back.
