Back in May, So You Think You Can Dance judge, Mary Murphy was slapped with a lawsuit by her former manager, who went so far as to claim that she was addicted to sex and cocaine. Recently, when Murphy did not file the necessary documents to proceed, the judge awarded her former manager over $200K in a judgment against her.
Michael Sanchez, a former manager of Mary Murphy reportedly won a $200k plus judgment against the So You Think You Can Dance judge recently, when she failed to file her documents on time. Sanchez’s original claim was that he helped Mary get the job on the show, all while protecting her “family” image, while Murphy was addicted to sex and drugs. But Mary Murphy’s camp stated that it was nothing but a scheme to embarrass her, since she had sued Sanchez in the past for a bad deal (on a gig, not drugs).
So, why did Mary Murphy not file the necessary paperwork in time? According to TMZ, Murphy is fighting back, claiming that it was her lawyer’s fault that the paperwork was not submitted on time. Mary’s lawyer has admitted to the mistake, claiming she got her dates mixed up, and she is asking the judge to toss the judgment. Her lawyer does not feel that Mary Murphy should be punished for her mistake, but so far no word from the judge on what he will do from here in the case.
