The Voice Recap: The Top 12 Perform Live (and Christina Aguilera Shows a Little Boob)

November 12, 2012 09:56 PM by Shayla Perry

Make that: Christina Aguilera Shows a Little Boob (and The Top 12 Perform Live). Because as good as the performances were on tonight’s episode of The Voice, somehow, Xtina’s er– “unique” ensemble managed to upstage all of them. It was tough, but we were able to focus long enough to give you all the highlights.

Tonight on NBC….

It seems like it took months to get through all of the Blind Auditions and Battle Rounds with 16 artists on each team this season, yet here we are, with the Top 12…already! The season finale is just around the corner. That is, unless they throw in another mystery round that we don’t know about yet to drag this season out even more.

We do know that there is a twist coming up soon, but it looks like it may make the season shorter. Each week, 2 artists will be eliminated from each team, and no coach is guaranteed to have a team member in the finale. (Interesting.)

After making it to the Top 12, the artists are even more eager to prove their worth in the competition; and more importantly, earn your votes. So, how did they do with their 2nd live performances?

First, it would be difficult NOT to mention Christina Aguilera’s outfit tonight. At the same time, it’s also difficult to put it into words other than, “D–n!” We’re not hatin’ though.

The first artist up tonight is Michaela Paige from Team Blake. She’s singing Pink’s “Blow Me One Last Kiss,” and we have to say it…she just may sound slightly better than Pink herself. Stage presence would definitely be something to work on for the youngster, but we’re lovin’ her spunk (and secretly missing De’Borah).

Up next, the stud muffin from Team Christina, Dez Duron, performing “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” (Lauryn Hill style). Honestly, the guy could’ve flubbed every verse and you wouldn’t have even known with all of the screaming from the crowd, so there’s not much we can say about his performance. And it probably won’t even matter, because we’re pretty sure he’s going through thanks to all of those pre-teen girls with unlimited text plans.

Still on cloud 9 after Christina chose her to stay in the competition, Adriana Louise is hoping to “sing her heart out” to “Good Girl.” And the girl done good because she had Cee Lo on the edge of his seat and Adam Levine getting in on the act.

A coach fave, Cody Belew, is also trying to convince America that he should stay in the competition, taking on Tina Turner’s “The Best.” It wasn’t quite his best, but hopefully it’ll be enough to keep him in the game for another week so we can see more “Bam, bam.”

The always impressive Amanda Brown from Team Adam (Cee Lo’s “favorite mistake”) hits the stage next with “Spectrum.” There’s an awful lot of arm movement goin’ on, but as usual, the powerful vocalist gives a good performance. Maybe not her best, but good. The song choice, however, may lose her a few votes since it’s not exactly a traditional singing competition track.

Another member of Team Adam, Bryan Keith is daring to do Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black.” Great song choice, and his coach couldn’t be more pleased with Bryan’s flawless performance. Christina and Blake agree that with this, Bryan has taken the lead on Team Adam.

Cassadee Pope from Team Blake also impresses with “Behind These Hazel Eyes.”

The artists are all bringin’ the heat tonight! (Still, not as much as Christina.)

Then, Cee Lo’s golden boy gets everyone on their feet (again!) singing “When A Man Loves A Woman.” Will those standing ovations translate to votes though?

Melanie Martinez wants to make her mark with “Cough Syrup,” followed by dark horse Nicholas David of Team Cee Lo singing “The Power of Love.”

Who will make it to next week? Find out during tomorrow night’s Live Results show!
