It’s the end of the road for funny duo Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The Dancing with the Stars team learned the bad news during yesterday’s double elimination episode. Now that Kirstie is (according to her Twitter page) “unemployed,” what will she do with all that spare time?
She may be disappointed to have her run on Dancing with the Stars cut short, but Kirstie Alley is still grateful to have had a chance to return to the show in the first place. She told People all about the highlights of the season: “We [Kirstie and Maks] got better and we had fun. [I] got to meet a lot of amazing people. Maks tried his hardest.”
According to Kirstie, the one thing standing in her way was all that darn talent on the dance floor! “The bottom line is there are extraordinary dancers here, and the first time we did the show, it was sort of – everyone was a little even-steven. From the time I saw this cast, I was slightly tripping.”
Despite the frustration involved in being one of the weaker members of the cast, Kirstie still enjoyed her time on the show. Best of all was her relationship with Maks, the notoriously moody pro kept in line by, as Kirstie jokes, “Tranquilizers. Horse tranquilizers because human ones didn’t work.”
Now that Kirstie and Maks are no longer going to be attached at the hip, the actress needs to find a new way to occupy her time. For now, she’s planning on getting plenty of rest. And TV, of course. “I’ve decided for 48 hours, I’m going to hire someone to wait on me and give me whatever I want while I watch Law & Order and Criminal Minds.”
