Dancing with the Stars alum Hope Solo is officially off the market now, but given the strange behavior and alleged aggression of new husband and former football star Jerramy Stevens, it’s hard to say how long the marriage will last. Now, reports point to Stevens’ long criminal history as a bad sign for the viability of this relationship.
The continually unfolding saga of Hope Solo and Jerramy Stevens grows ever more surprising. We didn’t exactly expect the couple to get hitched after just two months of dating, but what’s even more surprising is that Solo decided to date Stevens in the first place. The athlete usually makes a point of presenting herself in a way that will best attract sponsors. Suddenly marrying a man with a long criminal history doesn’t seem to fit that narrative.
That’s right, Monday morning was not the first time Stevens had the cops on him. The ex-football player’s criminal record includes reckless driving, DUI, a hit-and-run and (wait for it)…more assault. Also, Jerramy Stevens was accused of raping a student from the University of Washington. He ultimately was not charged with rape because there was not enough evidence available to prove that there was a lack of consent. However, Stevens did wind up paying a civil suit of $300,000.
We’re sure there will be some sort of speculation surrounding Solo’s father (who was also highly involved in the world of crime) and history repeating itself. While we won’t comment on the potential implications of all this, we do find the criminal past a bit worrisome in light of Monday’s arrest. The couple has been keeping quiet the past several days, but more details are sure to emerge with time.
