Cee Lo Green Lands NBC Sitcom

November 17, 2012 01:17 PM by Donna W. Martin

The Voice judge, Cee Lo Green has been in the news quite a bit lately thanks to a mystery woman accusing him of drugging her with Ecstasy and then sexually assaulting her. As it turns out, the mystery woman and Cee Lo have a long history together and have dated off and on. But now Cee Lo is making headlines on a more positive note. He’s landed his very own sitcom with NBC.

According to In Touch, Cee Lo Green will be taking a break from his job of judging and coaching contestants on season 4 of NBC’s, The Voice, to star in a new show too. Cee Lo, 38 explains, “I did do a deal to do a show with NBC loosely based on my life which is pretty d*mn interesting.” He added, “These are things we are going to get started on and devote our full undivided attention on during my hiatus for season four [of The Voice].”

When asked if he would be a star on the new sitcom or doing his own thing behind the scenes, Cee Lo said, “I will be acting like I am acting.” And we all know he’s no stranger to the spotlight and he isn’t afraid to push the limits of his musical act, whether it’s flashy outfits or wearing numerous wigs. Case in point, On Tuesday night’s episode of The Voice, Cee Lo hit the stage twice, once to sing a duet with equally flashy, Christina Aguilera and once with his remaining team members.

Cee Lo wore all white, donned a staff, and went barefoot to sing with Aguilera and after the performance flashed his gut to the cameras. Then when it came time to sing with his team, Cee Lo popped on a dark wig and took the mic to sing the Bee Gees hit, “Stayin’ Alive.”

When asked if he watched other shows similar to The Voice such as, American Idol and The X Factor, Cee Lo was quick to say, “I am going to answer this honestly, I have never ever watched one episode of any of the other shows,” he admits. “Not even to compete or to comparatively speak in any kind of way. The Voice is number one, alpha dog, supreme alpha omega.”

What do you think about Cee Lo having his own sitcom? Do you plan to watch it? Are you going to miss Cee Lo on season 4 of The Voice? Post a comment below and let us know what you think.
