Ever since she hit the big time as a bright-eyed teen in 2005, Rihanna has consistently made her music career a top priority. Lately, the busy singer has been recording hit songs and performing at a variety of venues, from the Grammy Awards to American Idol. She may be a career-oriented gal, but as she recently told Ellen DeGeneres, Rihanna also plans to be a family woman at some point in the future.
Despite the gossip surrounding her and Chris Brown, Rihanna insists that she is single and loving it. But while being single is fine for now, the singer would like to eventually settle down with a reliable partner who treats her well (translation: not Chris Brown). And when asked by Ellen DeGeneres if she’d eventually like to have kids, Rihanna responded, “Yes, eventually. I mean absolutely.”
Many women prefer to wait until they are in stable relationships before having kids. While Rihanna would also like to go this route, she wouldn’t completely rule out raising her children as a single mom. She admits that parenting on her own would be tough, but feels she’s capable of handling the challenge. “I would prefer to, you know, have a full family. I’m pretty sure I could handle if I had to on my own but that’s not what I’m striving for.”
Rihanna may very well become a mommy one day, but if and when she does, we really hope that the father is not Chris Brown. Based on her recent Ellen appearance, Rihanna is keen on avoiding becoming a parent with her supposed ex, so let’s just hope she doesn’t change her mind in the future.
