Reviews are starting to roll in for Lindsay Lohan’s newest movie Liz & Dick, in which she stars as movie icon Elizabeth Taylor. Lindsay, who was once on the fast-track of becoming a film legend, is now working on Lifetime movies and TV shows like Punk’d. So how did Lindsay Lohan do in Liz & Dick?
Reviews have been mixed on Lindsay’s starring role as Elizabeth Taylor. Some have been brutal: The Hollywood Reporter says, “there is not one minute in this film where she’s believable,” “can’t really pull off the young, sexy Liz…” and that casting her “was a bad idea in the dramatic sense, but it’s pure genius both for marketing and for belly laughs and drinking games.”
Some reviewers are saying Lindsay was just OK, for example a Newsday reviewer wrote: “her skills are rudimentary — made rustier by a long absence and a lot of other extracurricular activities. She delivers lines dutifully, competently, and at times woodenly, but she also looks like someone who has to think about what she has to say before she says it.”
Ken Baker of Eonline is more positive. He says Lindsay was “good” and that the movie was “not that bad.” He acknowledges the movie isn’t “Academy award-winning stuff,” but they only had 22 days to shoot it. Baker also notes that some of Lindsay’s scenes were uneven (as was her accent), but overall it was a “good effort.”
Are you looking forward to watching Lindsay Lohan in Liz & Dick on Lifetime November 25 at 9/8 pm?
