After all the hype and hoop-la, the ladies of VH1‘s Basketball Wives LA are headed to New York City for Fashion Week and the debut of Jackie Christie‘s collection. Surprisingly, Jackie and Laura Govan manage to get along quite well during the trip, but it’s two other ‘wives who are having issues this time.
This week on Basketball Wives LA….
Well, they’ve trashed “Tacky Jackie’s” style all damn season, but now, the ladies are in New York, ready to wear her designs. And not just wear them… At one point they’re even arguing over who gets to wear what. Surreal, but true.
You’d think that after the blowup at Draya’s White Party (with a splash of black and gold), Laura Govan wouldn’t be bothered to fly all the way to NYC; especially not to walk in Jackie’s show. But, sure enough, she’s there.
Maybe Jackie’s right. Does Laura have some emotional problems she’s going through herself (pot to kettle)?
It sure looks like it when the two of them are sitting next to each other as they watch Gloria and Brooke walk down the runway. We’re glad Draya noticed something strange about the situation, but is it just us…. Why does it seem like Jackie finds a way start a little side conversation every time someone is trying to call Laura out for being fake to her?! How does she never hear that stuff??!!
There isn’t much time for their drama this week.
Draya’s still not showin’ Brooke Bailey much love for landing the cover of King magazine (the one where she walked off the set), which is starting to get on Brooke’s nerves. Why is it that Draya can’t compliment her without telling her that it’s an accomplishment FOR HER, like she’s better than King magazine? Because frankly, if she were, she wouldn’t have booked the shoot to begin with.
So… Brooke’s planning on having a dinner to celebrate her accomplishment, but Draya isn’t going to be there. Why? The editor of the magazine who was talking trash about her is going to be there too, so Draya says that she’s keeping the night drama-free, as a real friend would do.
And maybe Draya was right, because as soon as the editor got there, all he wanted to do was talk about her and how she wasn’t professional; again, making it sound like Brooke got the cover by default.
Despite some leftover talk from the dinner party, Jackie’s show goes off without a hitch…and with Laura.
Later, Brooke reveals to Laura that there’s a little something more to the magazine story… According to the editor, there was never an agreement that there would be a closed set, and Draya was never told that she was going to get the cover. Brooke thinks that Draya didn’t want to be around him because he would’ve called her out for lying.
Who’s telling the truth? We’re not sure, but we’re thinking this isn’t going away any time soon. What do you think RTVM: Should Brooke be mad at Draya? Was Draya right not to go to the dinner party? Do you think the magazine editor is causing more trouble than necessary? Sound off in the Comments section below. We want to hear from you!
