Awww, how sweet. One train wreck helping out another. As we all know, Lindsay Lohan has been in hot water with the law during the last few years. As such, it should come as no surprise that the former Punk’d star still owes $233,904 in back taxes. In keeping with the holiday spirit, Charlie Sheen decided to contribute to what he apparently viewed as a good cause: Lindsay Lohan’s supposed comeback.
Charlie Sheen knows what it’s like to battle inner demons while facing heavy criticism from the media. Perhaps this is why the Anger Management star has a soft spot for Lindsay Lohan. The two reportedly became close while filming Scary Movie 5 together. Now, Charlie Sheen is said to have given Lindsay Lohan an early Christmas present in the form of $100,000. Of course, that $100,00 has stipulations, the main being that it must be used to help pay off Lindsay’s tax debt.
What’s strange about all this is that Lindsay doesn’t exactly need help to pay those taxes. Despite a clearly suffering career, Lindsay still is doing alright in terms of finances. Estimates put her income for this year at somewhere around $2 million. While the star definitely has other expenses to cover, she logically should be able to siphon off a bit of that $2 million income in order to cover her tax debt.
Lindsay doesn’t think she needs help with her debt either. Reports suggest that she refused Charlie Sheen’s initial offer to help pay off her back taxes. Persistent as ever, Charlie sent her a check for $100,000 in the mail — a check we’re assuming Lindsay will also refuse to cash.
What do you think of all this — sweet, or baffling? Leave a comment and let us know!
