Your favorite Top Chef contenders have come to the end of their journeys on the Bravo reality TV series, Life After Top Chef. In the season finale, Tom Colicchio makes a cameo as the four chefs battle it out in a Quickfire-style cook-off in Dallas for First Lady Michelle Obama. Paul Qui and Grayson Schmitz from Top Chef: Texas also join in for the Healthy Food Initiative. Keep reading to find out whose culinary skills impress the First Lady!
With a successful opening day of The Spence behind him, Richard now focuses on spending some quality time with his family. Meanwhile, Spike and his family work to get everything in order to open the doors of Good Stuff Crystal City. Sadly, they discover that none of their staff members know how to cook their signature burgers! After a crash course, the private kick-off party goes off without a hitch.
In Los Angeles, Fabio enjoys time with his life coach’s family but first he makes a shocking discovery. While talking to his life coach, Fabio reveals that when he was 22 years-old he took a vacation and three day into it, he got word that his best friend died. Fabio says that was the last vacation he took. Fabio’s life coach helps him to realize that he isn’t responsible for what happened and he is finally able to let go of the guilt.
There’s no rest for the weary as the former cheftestants are summoned one last time to battle it out in a Quickfire-style cook-off for First Lady Michelle Obama in Dallas. Spike loves to tease Richard especially when it’s a competition. Spike says that Richard is permanently scared and that’s why his hair sticks up! Oh, the bromance between these chefs is so funny!
The red team is made up of Grayson and Paul; the white team consists of Jen and Spike; and the blue team has Fabio and Richard. Dallas Cowboys Miles Austin and DeMarcus Ware also show up to help entertain the kids! In the end, Mrs. Obama selects the red, white and blue teams as the winning teams–everybody wins!
With the first season of Life After Top Chef ending, fans find out that Spike is opening a Good Stuff Eatery in Georgetown and Philadelphia; Fabio is opening his third restaurant in Chicago; Richard’s new restaurant, The Spence has been booked solid since it opened; and Jen will be opening Concrete Blonde in New York City in 2013.
