Last night on Dancing with the Stars, Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani were crowned the season 15 champions. While we are sure that Melissa Rycroft is over the moon with excitement, it took Tony Dovolani 15 seasons to get here – and he couldn’t be more thankful!
Many of the Dancing With The Stars pros already have multiple mirror ball trophies, but not Tony Dovolani. Tony has been competing for 15 seasons and was finally awarded his first win last night on the season finale. After the show, Tony shared his excitement with US Weekly, as he told them: “This is unbelievable! I can’t thank you enough for the support. I thank you all. For me, for my family, for everyone. This is so great. It’s unbelievable,” adding that yesterday was also he and his wife’s 13th wedding anniversary.
So, what exactly does the 39-year-old father of two plan to do with his trophy? Dovolani plans to give the trophy to his children: “I’m coming home as a champion and they deserve to see their daddy win. I worked hard all my life and this is a special moment for my kids.”
Dovolani continued to gush about his excitement, and while the win may have been shocking to him, he also said that it has been a long time coming. Uh, yeah, just having to deal with Kate Gosselin on the dance floor should have entitled Tony to a trophy!
