Can the day possibly get any worse for Punk’d star, Lindsay Lohan? Earlier this morning she was arrested and hauled off to jail after she punched a woman in the face in a New York nightclub. And now, almost six months after ramming her rented Porsche into the rear end of a dump truck, Santa Monica prosecutors have slapped her with three misdemeanor charges. Keep reading for all the details.
According to People, Santa Monica prosecutors have slapped the Liz & Dick star with three charges in connection with a June crash involving Lohan, her assistant, and a truck driver.
Following the accident Lohan and her assistant were taken to the hospital where Lohan denied being behind the wheel at the time of the crash. But it didn’t take police long to figure out she was lying when witnesses at the scene and even her trusted assistant ratted her out. Santa Monica police said, “During the subsequent investigation, information was developed that Lohan was the driver of the Porsche when the accident occurred.”
Giving false statements to the police carries an obstruction of justice charge. And in Lohan’s case, could carry a more severe punishment because she is on probation for jewelry theft, which is probably part of the reason why Lohan lied about being the driver of the Porsche.
But it seems Lohan has gotten off easy again. She was slapped with three charges but they are only misdemeanors. The charges include “obstructing or resisting a police officer, providing false information to a police officer, and reckless driving.”
Will she also be charged with violating probation? And will she get any jail time? While that is uncertain at this time, these three charges on top of the nightclub incident earlier this morning could affect her probation and she could be called to appear before Judge Sautner for a violation hearing. If Judge Sautner determines Lohan violated probation, she may face a jail sentence.
Tell us what you think. Do you think Lohan’s latest run-ins with the law warrant a violation of her probation? Do you think she should get some jail time? Or do you think she’ll get off as usual? Post a comment and let us know.
