Another one bites the dust on Project Runway All Stars as the competition inches closer to crowning a winner. On last night’s episode, Kayne made a sad departure after his take on two looks for the androgynous avant-garde themed challenge didn’t make the judges’ cut.
Kayne spoke about getting eliminated for the competition. “I’m okay but I’m definitely a little disappointed and sad that I didn’t make it all the way through to the end but I’ve had an amazing ride here and I feel so blessed to be here with the designers that I’m with.”
So what seemed to go wrong last night? “I think the main thing is I was so focused on giving quality garments and design,” Kayne explained, “That I was not looking at my whole look for both of my models in this challenge as a collective unit.” He added, “And the judges told me that I should edit a little bit more.”
Kayne said, “I am pretty surprised,” referring to his untimely departure from the competition. “My models looked fantastic – I felt that the judges would have had more of a problem with the guys look than the girls look. I definitely feel a little bit confused on it but I love both looks that I made and all of the designers said they look impeccably made.”
In the end, Kayne said, “I can definitely leave this all star experience knowing that every garment that I made was Jonathan Kayne and I have customers all across the world that would love to wear any of those pieces. So I am very proud that each of those garments have my stamp on it.”
A teary-eyed Kayne spoke to the other designers before leaving. “This experience has been so inspiring and as cool as it is to be critiqued by the judges I am more proud that I was here with you guys, so thank you.”
Did you agree with the judges’ decision to send Kayne home last night? If not, who do you think should have been eliminated? And who do you think is going to win the competition? Post a comment and let us know.
