Recently, we learned that Punk’d star; Lindsay Lohan was involved in a nightclub scuffle that led to her punching psychic Tiffany Mitchell in the face. Lindsay was subsequently arrested and hauled off to jail where she was charged with misdemeanor assault. And now it appears Mitchell has retained high-profile attorney, Gloria Allred.
According to E! News, Mitchell was spotted with Allred in Manhattan on Friday where they met for two-and-a-half hours. Allred confirmed Mitchell has retained her services and is considering what to do next.
Both Mitchell and Allred declined further comment but since Mitchell has retained an attorney, we are left to speculate whether a lawsuit is in the works against Lohan.
Lohan’s attorney, Mark Keller believes Mitchell is just out to get her name in the headlines. He said, “Once again, Lindsay Lohan is a victim of someone trying to capture their 15 minutes of fame.”
Li-Lo’s dad, Michael Lohan seemed to agree with Keller saying, “Why would [Mitchell] want such a high-profile lawyer if she didn’t do this whole thing for self-promotion and publicity.” He added, “As much as I think Lindsay was wrong for being at that club, at that hour, ‘partying’ and not taking care of her addictions, I will defend her when she is right.
If the entire encounter was a ploy on Mitchell’s part to gain recognition or bilk Lohan out of some cash, a hefty settlement might pacify in lieu of a lengthy trial.
Lohan has a January 7 court date where she will face misdemeanor assault charges for punching Mitchell.
What do you think of Mitchell retaining Gloria Allred? Do you think she’s gearing up to sue Lohan? And considering all the details released thus far, do you think fame and/or money was Mitchell’s motive all along?
What do you think Lohan’s punishment should be for assaulting Mitchell? Jail time? Compensation for pain and suffering? Punitive damages? Or all of the above? Post a comment and tell us what you think.
