It goes without saying that all Hollywood superstars have hit speed bumps on their way to fame. Most, however, chalk it up to experience and take it in stride. Adam Levine of The Voice, however, has made it a point to complain about everyone who’s ever done him wrong. On a recent episode of The Voice, Adam spoke out against The Roxy, bashing the club for not giving Maroon 5 a dressing room when they opened for Michelle Branch way back in the day. This recent complaint is only the most recent one, as he’s had whines and complaints about many major players in his road to fame.
When spouting off about The Roxy, Adam said “I remember we opened for her at the Roxy, and they didn’t even give us a dressing room. I hate the Roxy. I’ll never play there again.” When someone tried to show the club some love, Adam just wouldn’t have it, saying “Oh, the Roxy is horrible. Don’t ever go there. They screwed us over, and now they’re paying for it.”
I’m sure that The Roxy isn’t hurting because of Adam’s outburst, but after tweeting “Ummm, what’s up with that?” the Roxy put up a display on their marquee as an olive branch to the star, that said “Adam Levine, your dressing room is ready.”
Adam hasn’t issued a statement about the marquee, but he has shown a penchant for taking his fame and bashing everyone over the head with it. He bit the hand that fed him after complaining about MTV’s VMA awards straying from it’s original roots. He said the awards show was “One day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I’m drawing a line in the sand. f**k you VMA”. MTV responded in kind by tweeting, “Soooo you’ll be tuning in at 9/8C tomorrow right? BTW, bonus points if you TwitPic your 2004 Moonman!”
He also went on the offensive against American Idol, saying the show pushed contestants to hide their sexuality. “What’s always pissed me off about ‘Idol’ is wanting to mask that, for that to go unspoken. C’mon. You can’t be publicly gay? At this point? On a singing competition? Give me a break. You can’t hide basic components of these people’s lives. The fact that ‘The Voice’ didn’t have any qualms about being completely about it is a great thing.”
Adam has also banned FOX from playing his band’s music, saying “Dear Fox News, don’t play our music on your evil f**king channel ever again. Thank you.”
Is Adam Levine alone in his complaints? Or do you think they’re founded?
